In these days of restrictions and taking care of ourselves and each other it's difficult to remember to enjoy life as it is.
Let's face it though, Covid 19 is here and will stay as long as we let it!
There is so much around us at the moment though that we can still appreciate - the sunny days, (even if they seem little colder), the changing colours of the leaves on trees and plants, the stars in the clear skies at night(even on the edge of the city as we are) are shining brightly, the last blooms of the year are still around to cheer us, and, as the days get shorter, it becomes easier to accept staying in.
My page is my way of showing some Autumn beauty.
It started with this gelli print that I have been wanting to use for a while now, it took some patience to get to the stage of pulling off just part of the paint on the Gelli plate.
I added some random text and some stencilling through an Aall and Create hexagon stencil. The rose image is from a Studiolight collection. I stamped it onto some cream card, coloured with Derwent metallic paints and fussy cut it. I added it to my page with a piece of corrugated card to which I had also added some metallic paints and a scrap of cheesecloth that was on my desk.
The quote is by Visible Images and is one of my favourites.

Changing leaves are the best! :)
Beautiful journal page and lovely photos! Thanks for joining us at More Mixed Media. Have a fun weekend, hugs, Valerie
Simply stunning! The gelli print and stenciled background is amazing and the corrugated card, rose and sentiment finish it so beautifully - I love it 😀. I can see how you were inspired by the photo too, looking at the house through the sandstone balustrade was one my favourite views from your last post! Thanks so much for joining in the fun at Art Journal Journey! Stay safe and happy weekend! Hugs, Jo x
Stunning journal page Chris-very beautiful
Loved the photos and I agree we need to look at the positive and happy in our lives and not dwell on the negative and things we have no control of hugs Happy Friday
Another great post Chris - great page too!
PS - In answer to your question the beach was Rhyl!!
fabulous page, love the texture. Gorgeous pics, you do live in a beautiful area!
That rose journal page is stunning Chris. I love the cardboard and the bit of cheesecloth. And the rose itself is beautiful. You had some great inspiration to make this page. Thanks for joining us at Art Journal Journey and Jo's texture challenge. Happy weekend! hugs-Erika

What a lovely rustic background page! Love the textures in your background and sweet rose nestled into it! Thanks for playing along with us at the "Staying in the Background" challenge at The Funkie Junkie Boutique Challenge.
Chris, I was so excited to see your page in our Staying in the Background challenge at The Funkie Junkie Boutique challenge blog, and it gave me an excuse to come visit your blog! I miss my visits so much, but life takes me in so many different directions that don't involve sitting at my computer. What a fabulous page with lovely inspiration for it! I'm always so impressed with gel plate transfers, but have yet to make one. This is gorgeous, and creates a chippy vintage backdrop to your lovely rose. Thanks for playing along! PS You are so blessed to have such a wonderful place to visit, and good for you for enjoying the natural beauty!
Chris that background is outstanding - the partial pull looks like faded terracotta plasterwork, all peeling and gorgeous. And your choice of pale pink rose and corrugated card on top is pure genius. Thank you for joining in with our challenge at The Funkie Junkie Boutique x
