Weathering the storm

Hi everyone! We've had a busy few days. Two days searching for a replacement bathroom cabinet which led to getting distracted by all sorts of other things, bent specs needing attention that took a while waiting for, dental hygienist and dentist appointments and in between all that prepping for and taking a craft session with my usual ladies here at our retirement  complex.

There's been lot to catch up on, including some still to visit blogs.

I made a journal page for Wanderlust (hubby wasn't enamoured with the Fables theme so passed)

I knew what I wanted to be my fable but was at a loss how to illustrate it then I found some pages with crows on and from there my pages came together.

The background for Kasia's class was layers of gesso,  colour (I used Neocolour lls) ink and collage.

                                                      -------------------------------

Cornelius Crow always seemed to be caught in storms and felt very lonely.

One day he spotted some seagulls flying around each other having fun together - the sky was blue and he realised something.

The next day he met Charlie Crow and they became firm friends, the days became brighter - even when it rained!

Life is definitely better with friends to help you weather the storm.

This is my latest page for my 'All Kinds Of Weather' theme at Art Journal Journey.

Thanks for looking, Chris

Your post is adorable. I like how those crows made that spread. I really, really enjoyed the back story, too. It's a great entry for your theme at Art Journal Journey, dear.

Fables about animals always seem to project human behavior rather than observed animal behavior. I like the way you used silhouette-like crows in a design, but I don’t know how real crows relate to each other or to gulls.
