The Ruins

Hi everyone! I've finally got my tree up, I say my tree because it's only a small affair and I decorate it - although hubby does help me untangle the lights!

Made a quick page for Art Journal Journey where Valerie is hosting with the theme 'When One Door Closes, Another Opens'

I knew that I would be using this Crafty Individuals door as soon as I knew what the theme was. It's an old favourite, I stamped it onto stained paper and added some grey colouring pencil in parts . The rest of the page is scraps from a little bag, some stamping using another CI stamp, some words found on a couple of pages in an old book and some spattered Vintage Photo ink.

It reminds me of some of ruined castles and abbeys we enjoy visiting.

Thanks for looking, Chris

The door is an amazing image Chris. I love the layering and the texture and how you only left half of the clock visible. It's a great page Chris, and perfect for Alison's challenge. Glad to hear you got the tree up. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Hugs-Erika

Very cool door. The clock makes one think what happened in the past or what will happen when the clock strikes midnight.

I love the new stamp you used. It feels old and gives the impression that there are ruins from centuries past behind this door. I'm loving this. It is perfect for Valerie's theme at AJJ and a great page filled with wonderful mixed media!

You are so right, your door does remind me also of castles and abbeys that we all sit, especially you and hubby who should write Guidebooks for the NW and Paris. It's a lovely door, the shape reminds me of a fairy door but this one is much larger and definitely from a castle or abbey.
Lovely page Chris
Hugs, Neet xx
