T Stands For....The Secret Garden

Hi everyone, it's a lovely day here again and we're off we had a walk before we picked up our grocery order. Meant to post this earlier than now!!!

We've had one or two walks lately but first I am showing you something that didn't involve many steps at all....it wasn't the post I'd planned but Sunday was such a lovely day for me.

It started with a visit from my youngest son, who, having been told we had bought this...

....invited himself for coffee, of course he was welcome!
It's here I am going to join Bleubeard and Elizabeth for T Stands For Tuesday.

We had a lovely long chat on our balcony with the windows open - it was quite warm so that worked well. It really was lovely to sit down together...small pleasures etc. etc.

I totally forgot to take any photos so the coffee cup is from another day. It does make delicious coffee - the easy way!! We had vouchers to buy it and it was a very good offer with lots of free pods and a milk frother too!

                             -------

A few days earlier my eldest son had rung to tell me that a project he was making for me was completed and would we like to come over and pick it up (it's a secret at the moment so I'll show you soon!)

I was looking forward to seeing his garden again as last time it rained and we sat under cover.

Since he moved here about 10 years ago he has made some fabulous changes to what was quite a good base to begin with.

At the bottom of his garden is a workshop, built against an existing hedge so he wasn't blocking anyone else's view - he also built a two tier den for his son but this is now out grown and his next project is to remove it.

There are lots of little areas in his garden, looking through to other areas.

You can't see the steady trickle from this that makes such lovely sound

Meanwhile, my son, grandson and hubby had carried 'the project' round to put in our car but this is where we had been sitting. You can see them through the window.
Diesel the dog had gone inside to sleep after all the fuss he got but Razor the cat is still around.
The fire pit is a recent construction, made from something he came across.
He also found this on his travels...
...and I love how this mirror extends the view
My son has a small antiques unit in town but lots of the things he finds end up in his home...did you notice any(grin)

A final look back. I hope you enjoyed this visit.

I think that almost too much for now, so two last photos of places we visited last week - I will probably save the photos for a rainy day, when we need reminder of sunshine.

Thanks for looking, Chris

What a fun new coffee maker Chris. I bet you will enjoy that. And I am blown away with your son's garden. It is amazing and very beautiful. I love the old fireplace mantel up against the house. What a cool idea for a place to put some potted plants. He has done a great job. I need to show these to my husband to motivate him to fix our walkway which is not only falling part doesn't go all the way to the house since he rebuilt the deck almost 20 years ago. Smile. Have a great T day Chris, and thanks so much for sharing these photos. Hugs-Erika

I am in total awe of your son's back yard and garden. It is stunning. I was simply overwhelmed by the beauty of it all and the various recycled pieces he has turned into art, as well as real art scattered around his space. I loved it and I'm sure you did, too.

Nice new coffee maker. Looks like it will make great lattes and cappuccinos, too. I bet your other son enjoyed testing it out. Thanks for sharing your son's amazing garden and your new coffee maker for T this Tuesday, dear Chris. Now you've piqued my interest and curiosity about the new gift.

Would your son like a project as a hobby? One large garden ready for someone to play in it.
Seriously though, that garden of his is amazing. What a pleasure to sit there, walk through it and just look at it. i never expected to be seeing such a beautiful place when I came on your blog. The firepit is super but I think the driftwood was the best bit for me. It is something I have always wanted to find - a huge piece of interestingly shaped driftwood. I can come back here now and then and dream.
Love the coffee machine but the garden ....
Hugs, Neet xx
