T Stands For...The Old Town Of Angers

Hi everyone, we have had a couple of sunny days, not that I have seen much of it as I am in the middle of 'the big throw out'!

The easy bit has been done - things I definitely wanted to throw - I have now reached the 'Shall I keep this?' part.

Hopefully before and after photos will be posted soon

We did manage a short walk this morning before doing our food shop but I promised pics of Angers old town last week so here they are

As in many old French towns there is a route marked to help you find your way (Poitiers has three different coloured routes) so we did just that as the castle we visited was on the line also.

I wish I had taken a photograph of these shutters from a different angle - they would make a great background

The blue line led us to Place St Croix and this beautiful building known as Adam's House but now has fabulous displays for the shop there

I'm sure you would like to look

Are you ready for this next one Iris?

Henry!!!
Can you see the price?

Just around the corner we saw this art shop - erm, yes we did treat ourselves!
To end our day we went back to place we had spotted by the tram stop back to our B and B - a creperie.
If we had know how big our Galettes(savoury pancakes)would be we would have shared - as it was we couldn't finish them and there was certainly no room for sweet pancake.
We had water to drink as well as a tonic water for me and a cola for hubby. I am joining Bleubeard and Elizabeth for T Stands For Tuesday, where the entry requirements are - show your drink!

Our final day next week, the journey to Cherbourg and the ferry.

Thanks for looking, Chris

The blue line reminds me of the red bricks in Boston that will take you on a 2 mi. self-guided historical tour of the city. Oh, my that shop looks awesome as do the galettes. I think I would have tried to find room for dessert. Happy T Day

Hi Chris, I loved taking the walk through this area of historic buildings-and fun idea with the blue line. That does look like allot of food-could you take the left overs with you? I loved seeing "Henry" too Iris will be smiling when she sees him.
Happy T hugs Kathy

The old town of Angers is just amazing. I love all the peeling paint and details in the buildings. It's interesting how each generation or so people want different styles, even all those years ago. And that shop seems to have some fantastic things. I would want to visit it, but hopefully not too tempted to empty my wallet. And your crepes look yummy. I think I see melted cheese. Something warm would taste good right now. Good luck with your maybe piles. I'm at that point with soe books, which hopefully tomorrow I can finish. Hope it's been a great T day. hugs-Erika

I can see how France would be inspirational for an artist. All your pictures are so inspirational and make me want to paint them.
Adam's House is gorgeous and has beautiful displays. What material is Henry made of?
So glad you shared.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate

This is an amazing post, Chris. I am in LOVE with the architecture. That one building where you found Henry was so interesting. The columns with the figurines was most impressive.

OMGoodness, I want those savory pancakes. They look like crepes. Now I am starving after seeing your meals.

Thanks for sharing your walk around Angers Old Town and your Galettes, water, tonic water, and cola you shared with us for T this Tuesday, dear Chris.

Hope you don't pitch anything art wise you will need in the future.

I tried to comment last night but the "robot" just kept circling and I couldn't post. What a beautiful place, number 17 looks like it could belong to a hobbit. Those galettes sound delicious. I hope you found lots of nice things in the art shop to replace the things you are throwing out. Happy T Day! Elle/EOTC xx

What a lovely little town. And such a good idea to colour the route. (They do it in Granada hospital. So handy)
I love the doors you photographed, and the galettes are making me hungry. I've only got soup for supper, but I could always make myself a pancake.....
Happy belated T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
