T Stands for - The last roses...and Paris

Hi everyone, what started today as a trip to the opticians to get my specs straightened(no idea why they went lopsided)and to do some food shopping turned into a coffee stop, a few hops into shops we haven't been in for..well..ages and then lunch out. We really enjoyed it though, apart from getting very hot in shops wearing our masks, and although lots of folk weren't wearing them, we are still joining those that do!

This may be a bit of a garble....please excuse any mistakes!

If you know my blog you will have seen lots of gardens over the years.

We do visit gardens at other times but there is great joy in seeing flowers in Summer.

My latest Wanderlust lesson was by Wendy Brightbill and gave me a chance to paint some of those flowers and also include my page at Art Journal Journey for my 'All Kinds Of Weather' theme. I've put a bright blue, almost cloudless sky in the background.

Over the years I have really come to love roses (for a long time childhood memories of the heavy air around the rose fields on the nursery where we lived used to bring back the nauseous feeling I had when we went on evening walks)

AS you can see I have taken quite few rose photos over the Summer and more lately on some late blooms.

Hubby's page from the same class took on more of an Autumn look to it with a lingering clematis flower.

We had coffee and teacake one morning at the garden centre and this is where I am joining Bleubeard and Elizabeth for T Stands For Tuesday.
Now for Paris, after our morning at Les Gobelins we decided to visit St Sulpice church as we had read that they had opened up some side chapels especially for Patrimoine weekend.
We walked through Le Jardin du Luxemborg...
...as you can see Saturday afternoons are quite busy!

It was a really warm day.

It was cool in the church and we enjoyed being shown places that were only open occasionally.

Once out in the warm again we came across an ice cream shop that specialises in rose shaped ice cream cones. Watching them being created was fascinating.

I had a lemon and raspberry sorbet cone - but this was to start an obsession - as you will see another day!

This is where I will leave you. On the Sunday there were more treats in store ...I have a feeling I will be showing you Paris pics until Christmas!

Thanks for looking, Chris

Taking photos of roses is really irresistible! I’ve spent so much time doing that. Did you see any of the rose gardens in or near Paris? There are some really marvelous ones.

LOVED your awesome pages you and T made for that class you are taking. And of course, you have found roses I never would have guessed existed. I sure learned there are lots of styles of roses.

T sure looks happy at the garden center. Wow, I would love a teacake to go with my coffee right now.

Beautiful shots of Paris and St Sulpice church, dear. The various nooks and crannies one would not normally get to see, must have been the highlight of your day. Of course, that rose ice cream/sorbet must have been fun, too.

Thanks for sharing your time in Paris at the St Sulpice church, the rose sorbet, and your trip to the garden center for teacakes and coffee with us for T this Tuesday, dear friend.

I love your rose page Chris. It says beautiful summer day. And you painted a wonderful rose also. Your husband's page was a lot of autumn fun too. I'm glad you both like gardens with this class you did. And I love seeing Paris and especially seeing the Luxembourg Gardens in beautiful weather. I visited Paris in late February, and we did walk through the garden, and there were people all about it, but it felt so different from your nice weather views. And I must say, your rose ice cream cone is amazing and works so well with this post. Have a wonderful Wednesday, and I hope it was a great T day. It sounds like it was. Hugs-Erika

How lovely that you take Wanderlust classes together with your husband, and both your pages look beautiful. We might have gotten one of our ice creams at the same shop since ours was rose shaped as well. Beautiful photos of a beautiful church, and I simply love the Jardin du Luxembourg.

Hi Chris, I so enjoyed seeing all your roses both in photos and your hand painted ones, the journal page was a real treat and I love how you did the roses. Knowing my battle over the years making roses from sugar I applaud you.
I was settling into enjoying the aris pictures, remembering how much i loved Jardin de Luxembourg, but then the photos petered out. (We are at the caravan, reception is never good but today's wind seems to have upended it altogether. Will catch up when home - those rose shaped ices sound adorable. I need to see them.

Aw, Paris in summer! One of the last trips we did with my mum and dad with their 'Flower Club' members. I do love a rose. We have one that's a climber, it's now more of a tree than a rose brush. Lovely pictures! And your journals are fabulous! Thank you for your visit! Sorry I'm so late, this week has been, vets and hospital and flow texts! They take up all the day! I have promised hubby I will make real gingerbread men! I've added paint to them now and he keeps offering them to me! 'Have a Gingerbread man, they're really nce!' Break your teeth more like! Happy Late T for tuesday! and thank you for your visit!
