May Calendar Journal

Hi everyone, you may have heard that this weekend is the Coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla.

My Calendar Journal page is meant to celebrate the event and I am joining in at Art Journal Journey where Aimeslee's theme is 'Flowers'

I used a flowery Tim Holtz stencil using blue and red ink to make the background. I stamped a lot of Tracy Scott Paper Artsy flowers onto white paper and coloured and fussy cut them.

The brightly coloured girl is a Tandy Art image and I tucked a Tracy flower in her hair. The butterfly was in my scrap bag. The Union Jack flags are stickers on some fruit I bought recently, we are getting some British produce in shops now.

It may look as though I have cut up a Union Jack for my journal but I would never do that...I used some watercolour pencils and water brush to draw a pattern onto a piece of paper then punched out the squares then stuck them randomly onto the page

I have my weekend planned, including a family tea party, but mainly lots of TV watching which I will do with some colouring or cutting out on my lap.

Oh, last month's calendar ended up like  this..

Another busy month and at the moment, apart from this weekend I can't see much of a slow down this month!

Thanks for looking, Chris

I like how you are celebrating the coronation with your calendar Chris. I like the striped daily boxes that do remind me of the Union Jack, in a way, and I love all the flowers too. They are televising the coronation here and I want to watch some of it since I wasn't around for the Queen's. I'm excited to see one. I'm sure it's a much bigger deal across the pond though. I love your pages - especially May! So bright and colorful and happy.
Still a strange thought to think of a British King. The Queen certainly was there all my life...
It was in the German news yesterday that they prepare - also for in case people get aggressive - how sad.
Hope it will be a wonderful event.

Your April calendar is lovely Chris, but I'm digging how this month's reflects your national pride and traditions. I don't watch TV anymore but I hope things go well for all involved. Thanks for sharing with AJJ. xoxo

As always, you have put my calendar pages to shame. You put SO much effort into this latest entry and those flowers are cut perfectly. I absolutely LOVE them.
Thanks for this awesome entry at AJJ using Aimeslee's great theme.
