A path less trodden

Hi everyone, I am finding a little more time at the moment, I am hoping that all of our appointments are finished with for a while now. The plus side is they have taken us to places with shops so we have started the updating of our balcony - well at least in getting some of the things we need.

Hubby and I have also started our catch up on Wanderlust.

We are way behind - we are skipping week 26 for now and this is what we made for Week 27 - at the moment we have 28, 29 and 30 still to do!

It involved using oil pastels, soft pastels, watercolours and Gesso. I made mine into a walk by a stream with a flower cut from a bouquet wrapper and the birds sitting on rocks in the stream are from an old bird ID book form a charity shop (they are an Asian species)

I am entering at Art Journal Journey where Alison's theme is 'Summer Countryside' I think hubby's might well be an entry too!

Hubby made some pathways on his which leads very nicely into the continuation of our walk last week at Tatton Park.
Opposite the Japanese garden we decided to take a path we had never been on before

There was such peaceful atmosphere, especially as we saw no else around! Of course with Tatton being under a flight path we heard occasional planes flying over.

Another sign! I'm not so sure about raindrops replacing coffee!

Back to somewhere familiar...
...with a look back at the path

I'm hoping that these beds will look better in a few weeks time!

This sign had been covered up by an overgrown hedge

Heading back to the exit - we had a lovely walk and it was great to discover new areas of Tatton!

Thanks for looking, Chris

You and your hubby have both made beautiful art, great that you both follow the challenge. Tatton Park is always beautiful, the old paths and the new! I think I would enjoy walking there. Have a great start in the new week! Hugs, Valerie

I find I always get behind when I take classes on line, so I feel your frustration. Life has a way of getting in the way-smile. I love seeing your pages; they certainly feel like the summer countryside. And thanks for introducing me to the term forest bathing Chris. And sharing fantastic garden photos. Did you enjoy your experience forest bathing? Happy new week. Hugs-Erika

the main reason I stopped signing up for Wanderlust was being unable to keep up with it whilst working, there is no hope for me if you can't keep up being retired ha ha!! A fab set of photos from a very peaceful looking part of Tatton; how gorgeous. Kew are doing some sessions of forest bathing too, but not at weekends I think

Hi Chris, I love seeing both of your art pieces this week-that is frustrating to get behind-but don't let it stress you just enjoy your time painting with your husband-so special.
You took us to a lovely place and I had not heard that term before - forest bathing I am thinking most would not give up their coffee for rain drops-but I loved the thought. Happy new week hugs Kathy

I have enough trouble keeping up with the various challenges I'm in. I can't imagine an online class, too. You both have certainly given us real beauties and wonderful art for Art Journal Journey using Alison's theme.

Those views from Tatton Park are wonderful. I had never heard of Forest Bathing before, but I certainly won't give up my coffee for raindrops. Caffeine is my drug of choice. I really LOVED the formal garden. There is something special about symmetry.

A lovely walk through the woodland countryside from both of you. I love the watery freshness of your page with the birds perched ready to have a quick dip. And the twisting paths of your husband's page look very inviting. Always a fan of forest-bathing - glad it's catching on!!
