T Stands for Tatton Park and little bit of Wanderlust

This week has really raced past, we've had walks, had our second Covid jabs(without too much hassle and just a little bit of arm pain for a day)and we completed two Wanderlust pages.

Of the two of mine I prefer this one from week 17, a lesson by Kasia Avery

We were using magazine pages and although I have some with more artily posed beautiful models I was more taken with a little scene from a gardening magazine(more on that later)It shows a couple looking over a fence and I used layers from the same magazine to surround it.

I decided to add some words to it as it reminded me of our garden walks. I am also including it for Eileen's 'Inspired By' theme at Art Journal Journey where Erika and I have been co-hosting this month, now that Eileen is no longer with us.

Hubby found some images in an old Geographic magazine.

He was delighted to find this leopard.

We both enjoyed using oil pastels onto gessoed areas.

I wasn't quite so thrilled with mine from week 16 where Dyan Reavely showed us how to make a silhouette page.

Hubby's is fabulous

We are really enjoying these classes.

So, our walk at Tatton Park - it was hubby's birthday on Friday so it was his choice of where to go and what a good decision it was.

Its apple blossom time

The Guneria is sprouting again

The Japanese garden is now surrounded by a brand new bamboo fence

The back of the Japanese Garden

We left the main carpark and drove down to the lake for our picnic and it is here I am joining Bleubeard and Elizabeth for T Stands For Tuesday
Cheese bagel, homemade sausage roll and tomatoes

Hubby took a photo go the cups on the dashboard...before bringing it outside to drink.

Oh and that magazine....
..has this in it....
...lots of gardens in the UK at 2 for 1 prices - we aim to get the money we paid for the magazine back in our first couple of visits.
It is the May issue if you are interested and it is still available.

Thanks for looking, Chris

One thing I'm sure of. I'll never forget T's birthday. Happy belated birthday, dear T.

LOVED both Wanderlust journal entries. I especially like the two silhouette pages, but admit that T really proved his was better. Thanks for making one of yours for Art Journal Journey, too. I'm sure Eileen would have been pleased.

Tatton Park is beautiful. I love the formal gardens and the Japanese Gardens. T found the perfect place to celebrate his birthday. It was also a great place to share lunch and coffee. Thanks for sharing your art, the gorgeous gardens, your lunch, and coffee with us for T this Tuesday, dear friend.

i'd love to visit more gardens, but without a car (and lots of retirement time to do it) most of them are hard to reach.. hence repeated trips to Kew - love the pics from Tatton though - and glad you were able to get out to enjoy T's birthday. Great pages for Wanderlust, too.

All your art is so beautiful Chris. I love both the collages (I thought that might be the two of you in the center) and the silhouettes. Your husband is certainly getting his art legs too. It's fun to see how he improves each week. And nice choice of walk. That bridge reflection was beautiful and I like the Japanese/Asian photo too. MY local garden for walks opens in a few weeks and I can't wait to go. Have a great Wednesday and hope it was a nice T day. Hugs-Erika

You and hubby's journal pages are fabulous! I especially like the magazine inspired ones. Your walk through the park is lovely. I would love to see the Japanese garden. There is something magical about water, bridges and blooms. That Guneria plant looks interesting. I had to look it up as I have never seen or heard of one.
Loved seeing what you brought for lunch.
Happy Tea day and Happy Birthday to your hubby,
Kate

What a good choice of park. There is something for everybody. I find those gunneria fascinating. They look prehistoric! The Japanese garden is beautiful as is the formal garden. The bluebells make me feel nostalgic (no bluebells here in Spain) and the apple blossom is gorgeous.
I love your journal pages, especially the silhouette pages.
Happy T-Day (belated),
Hugs,
Lisca

I am glad you are enjoying your lessons. My husband and I once took watercolor lessons together for six weeks. It was fun. Beautiful garden photos. I wish we had a lot of gardens near here to visit, but just our city Botanical Gardens that I know about. Happy belated T Day.

Great post Chris, loved your silhouettes from your Wanderlust lessons. Years since I went to Tatton Park, it had rained and the ground was really wet. Lovely photos.

Love all 4 journal pages. Both you and hubbly did a great job on both lessons. I am still so totally jealous that he creates with you. I am still trying to convince my hubby to have a go at it. LOL! Love all your pictures, Chris - so much beauty and such interesting things you found to photograph. Glad you got your shots with very little reaction. I got my last one this week and didn't have any issues either. Happy late T-day and many hugz.

Glad you got your jabs, Chris. And happy belated birthday to hubby. Now, I think both of your silhouette spreads are gorgeous, but I love yours especially! Why on earth do you not care for yours? It's fabulous! Anyway, very nice photos of the gardens and of you both on your coffee break as we say over here. And so happy for you to get that magazine and the coupons.
