T stands for......the walk....

I am still on catch up I'm afraid, but hopefully the situation will get better!!
I am starting my T stands for Tuesday post with the meal we had at le Vieux Lyon Restaurant - it's here where I visit Bleubeard and Elizabeth!
We both had Filet Mignon with a mustard sauce - it was delicious!

We heard this singer on the way in but once inside could only catch a little of what he was singing!Sadly all the tables outside were taken!
Inside was interesting though!
Dessert for hubby was the traditional Lyonnaise pink praline
Here is a link to George Brassens singing 'Jeanne' about the woman who put him up towards the end of the Second World War - he remained with her and her husband for 22 years after the war.
When I went to take a photo of the front of the restaurant another customer asked if we would like a photo together, he instructed the waiter who just brought his food to stand with us! He said he would happily, even though he wasn't family!!
Everyone had gone from the seats here by the time we left.
It was immediately after this that we visited the Traboules.
Before it became too late we wanted to visit two areas quite a distance apart so we walked to St Georges first.
 St Georges church..

We decided to climb this hill...

...only to come down again!
past the puppet theatre.

On to the other interesting part another day....

Thanks for looking, Chris

Oh so many beautiful sites!! I remember family playing that song from a record and had all but forgotten it until I listened to the link- so, thank you! How nice of that man to offer to take a photo of you together- and to include the waiter too- fun. That pink praline sounds very interesting for sure. Thanks for sharing so much of your lovely, lovely trip to France, and happy T day!

As always, you take me places I can only dream of. That church was lovely, and the idea of seeing a puppet show was so unexpected. I was just amazed by all the photos and wonderful places you visited in a single day. Your filet mignons sound wonderful, even for this vegetarian. I also would like to try a pink praline. Water was a great choice for the rich food you consumed, too. Thanks for sharing your walk and your wonderful meal with us for T this Tuesday, dear Chris.

I love how little French hole in the wall restaurants create the best food. I've been to France twice and had some the yummiest things to eat. Of course the French are all about food, but your filet mignon meal reminds me of one we had once in a small cafe and now I am drooling. Glad you climbed that hill. It looks steep but really interesting. Thanks for sharing. And happy T day Chris.

Planning your trips must be almost as much fun as taking them. Y'all are so well-organized to be able to fit so much into each day. Such a wide variety of sites. I enjoy my virtual tag-along :) Happy T Tuesday!

Great photos from your trip. That restaurant looks like a good place to eat. I like the architecture in that area. The church was stunning. I like the narrow alley ways you walked along. The puppet theatre building looks nice. Happy T-Day!

Yummy, filet mignon with mustard sauce, what a treat. I enjoyed the video, Chris. While I was on YouTube, I listened to some Edith Piaf. Does anyone not love her version of "Non, Je ne regrette rien?"

What a happy memory photo of you with the waiter.

Happy T-day! Eileen xx

Too bad you didn't get a table outside, but filet mignon. Mmmmmm. Such a fun photograph of the wait with you and Hubs outside the restaurant. The stained glass windows of the church must have been so beautiful with the sunlight streaming in. What goes up must come down. Did you go see the puppet show? Thanks for the day out from my chair. Happy T Day

I forgot to say I really enjoyed George Brassens. I used to play his songs as a teenager (in the 60s) because he sings such beautiful French. I don't remember that song though and its wonderful background story. I when I went on YouTube to listen to it I found the same song with the b&w photo of George and Jeanne.
