Spring greens

Is anyone else looking forward to Spring and  walking in woods that are springing to life? We went for a walk yesterday at Styall - on our way to shop!!
It was great to see the tips of bulbs peeping through! A true promise of Spring!  Styall's gardens look lovely any time of year!
These wooden deer have been installed on one of the top fields!
This plant is competing with the Christmas decorations in the greenhouse!
The air plants seem to have transformed themselves into decorations too!

I have never taken the cottage from this angle before!
The Bollin river was in full flow

This is the ice house at the top of the weir!
I love seeing lichen - a sign of clean air!
This definitely isn't living any more!
We don't often pass this old spindle now that there is a new carpark but we decided to walk up the old path.

My page was started with paint, crackle paste and gold and white pens.
The stamp is a Crafty Individuals one(CL 487) which is stamped randomly and I then picked out two phrases I liked and stamped them onto some gelli printed paper.
I added some French text which has two of my favourite places mentioned - Lincoln, my home town and Paris which....well, you know, I love to visit as often as I can!!!
I stamped the leaves from the stamp onto the margins of the book paper. Finally I added pine needle DI to the page and the crackle leaves.

This is another entry for Art Journal Journey where Elizabeth has been an excellent host all month with her 'My favourite season or 'tis the season' theme!

I may just squeeze in another but if I don't - Thanks Elizabeth for choosing such a great theme, for which I had so many ideas but not enough time!!

Thanks for looking, Chris

Hi Chris, I've come across from Valerie's blog.
I saw your post title and wondered did you mean Spring Greens to eat or to see!

What a lovely post Styall'a gardens look very nice and I enjoyed your photographs.

My good wishes for the coming New Year.

All the best Jan

Oh you have beautiful winter green. We had frozen blops of snow and lots of brown and grey but no green. I think you have spring already. :) And your page is so exciting and is beautiful. Leaves and green. I am missing them but get to see them in your post. Happy New year. Hugs-Erika

Your lovely photos show a much warmer climate than I have. The deer surprised me, but I enjoyed seeing the lichen and didn't realize that meant the air was clean. That dead tree is a circle of life and death and will eventually degrade and produce new growth and fertilizer. So good to see it left in place.

I was in awe of your fabulous journal page, Chris. I loved how you used the gold, as well as the greens. Using that French text was brilliant. I loved everything about this and am delighted you chose to share it using my theme at Art Journal Journey.

Here's to a healthy, safe, and joyful new year and 2019 for you, T., and your loved ones.

I love your page too, I also didn't know that lichen was a sign of clean air, that must explain why there is so much at Kew. Looks like you had a great day for a walk.

Happy New year to you both!
Love, just simply love that journal page. it is one of my favourites. What gorgeous composition and shades of green it holds for us. Just wish I had thought of doing something like that myself.
Thanks for the journey through Styal - you are so lucky to have it close enough to you to visit on a regular basis. I just enjoy it through your eyes and you certainly treat us to some lovely photos. I was amazed at the wooden deer. I thought they were real. Now I am wondering what the thought is behind doing that when there are so many of them wandering around the grounds.
Anyway, once more Happy New Year!
Hugs, Neet xx

As much as I like the seasonal changes, I'm realizing I avoid getting out when it's cold. Yes, I'm definitely looking forward to signs of spring and warmer weather :) Those gardens are lovely, so much to see. I like the colors and composition of your art. Those greens :)

I haven't turned to thoughts of spring yet, though your gorgeous page could convert me. I'm still huddled up by the tree enjoying my twelve days (or trying to - stinking cold is unwilling to let up). Great to get out and about vicariously with you, though. The gardens look wonderful.

Pretty page. Here we have a wind chill advisory and it is -7 F (or -21.6 C). Not spring here by any stretch. Loved seeing the pictures, though!! :)
