Late in the day I know but not too late to join in with fun at Julia's Stamping Ground I hope! If you are wondering what WOYWW means - and I'd be surprised if you are - then all the details will be found on Julia's blog.
There isn't a lot here really, just something I started before we went out today - no cinema this week, just a trip to B and Q and the Trafford centre.
We only got home last night, quite late, having spent the weekend "up North" or should I say "Further up North"! Spent Saturday at Woolfest near Cockermouth, the most wonderful experience, even hubby enjoyed it as there was livestock to see, two bands playing and quite nice food too! I did buy some goodies for knitting and 'dumfing',(see Wipso here and Twiglet here for some real dumfing), but haven't unpacked them yet!
On Sunday we set off for church then found I'd left my specs behind! When we got there the service had been cancelled - no need to worry about not seeing the hymn book! So, what to do? Yay! Silverdale Art Trail was on - this is an event where local folk share their art work either in their studios or at other venues around the area(schools, churches, pubs, cafes etc)Okay then, not so Yay! without the specs but enjoyable all the same!
Sorry, I'll stop rambling, here's the desk
Having seen this technique by Liesbeth Fidder on the Paper Artsy blog I wanted to have a go as soon as I could! Love the effect! As you can see I dashed off and left a bit of tidying to do!!
Thanks for looking, I will try to visit as many desks as I can before the weekend! Chris

Sounds like you've been having a really fun time. Could you post us a close up of what you're doing. It's hard to see from the desk shot and you've got me curious now :-)
Have a lovely week

The Art Trail sounds fascinating ... what a wonderful idea! Those flowers on your desk look equally fascinating ... can't wait to see what you do with them. Happy WOYWWing love from Debbie #21 xXx
It's been a long day full of fun for me but that means this has been my first chance to call by at my blogging friends to see what they have all been up to so I'm sorry for the delay this week.
Thanks for the mention Chris :-) Just wish I had the time and inclination for dumfing these days....busy busy busy. :-)
Hugs,

I'd love to see a close up shot too!

Well, glasses or not, I'm glad you enjoyed the open studios, I love them. It may need a tidy, but you didn't walk away from your desk in any real state, I must say..am v impressed. The backgrounds look great...show and tell when you've used them please!
Hello Chris. That looks a fun technique to try out. Lots of wet stuff - how much fun is that?! Well done you.
Glad you had a good time "up North" - would have loved to go to woolfest - quite a way from here though.
The art trail sounds fun, too.
Have a great week.

Thanks for leaving pieces for us to see... and a link to her blog. I am following your link. Creative Blessings! ~Kelly #55
Went to the link, love that technique! Thank you so much for sharing it. I like how your flowers turned out. Diane #71
Chris, how did you find out about Silverdale Art thingie - I would have loved a day out to something like that. I never find these things/events.
You made me smile about the specs, I never go without mine and have even got in the shower with them on and gone "blind" with the steam. Doh!
Hugs and Thanks for visiting me - Neet xx
I don't think the open studio events are very well publicised. We sometimes go to the one at Cambridge which is massive but the daft thing is that they have one her in Lincoln and I never know when it's on.
I think the best thing is to go on the internet to find out.
Love th technique you're using, will check out the link.
Happy crafting, Angela x #48
Sounds and looks like you have been busy! I've only ever visited the Trafford Centre once, great place, much like Meadowhall (Sheffield). Shopping is great fun. Glad you found a way to enjoy your day after your service cancelled. Take care Zo xx 46
Thanks for the link - what a clever idea!
Thanks also for the visit earlier - The Steam Trains take over our lives for the Open Weekend but it's good fun ..... really!

You've been busy! What a fun adventure. Anything textile is so much fun. I love the dumfing that I've seen. If you give a go please share. Very cool. The flowers you created are great.
Happy belated WOYWW
Peace, Kay (60)
sounds a great week! looking forward to finding time for Liesbeth's project - going to have to be Sunday though as I'm out tomorrow. Helen 2
