So Sweet at TIOT

Hi everyone, we are starting a new theme at Try It On Tuesday - 'Oh So Sweet!' and you will find that the Design Team have pretty, cute and sweet food images to show to you... and inspire you to take part we hope.

I made a card for my Sister In Law, she broke her ankle the other week and had been in a cast for a while when they found that it had not set correctly so she has been in hospital for an operation to straighten it. She is now going to be even longer with her cast on! She's putting on a brave face but I know she wants to be active.

I used a stencil and a mask to ink two different colours then added some yellow over both then dabbed a wet tissue through some sequin waste. I stamped the cat - a Lindsay Mason wooden rubber mounted stamp  and coloured it with watercolour pencils and a water brush. The sentiment (Crafty Individuals) was stamped then I used a pen to squiggle around it and then the whole card.

I hope you will find something 'Oh So Sweet' to join us at Try It On Tuesday this time.

Thanks for looking, Chris

Rainy days...

Hi everyone, the weather has been so bad that we haven't had a proper walk since Sunday afternoon when we went out with eldest son and daughter in law.

It has meant that I have got on with my craft room organisation and although I still have stamps and papers to sort through I'm pretty pleased with the way its going.

The dark days had me making this page for Valerie's 'Anything Goes' theme at Art Journal Journey
I used some leftover paper scraps, a little bit of paint daubing, some writing with a white sign uni-ball pen an image from an unused note card.

The day was so grey today that the solar lights on my balcony hardly made a glimmer.
Hopefully eldest had a better day at his manoir, when I spoke to him this morning he said the sun was shining brightly and there was a mist in the valley that was clearing slowly.

Thanks for looking, Chris

T Stands for.....Thinking!

Hi everyone, I've been thinking......a lot.

I have resigned from Crafty Individuals Design Team, we have plans to be away for some of the year and I really couldn't see it fitting in at all. I will now have more time for blog visits and comments(where blogger will let me!)

I've also had some thoughts about my craft room - when I first started the BIG TIDY I had thought that I would organise things in a certain way but now as I have started to use it again I am going to make some adjustments.

I also have time for entering some challenges and taking some online lessons....which is where I will begin!

Hubby and I had fun making these pages as part of Laly Mille's Art Journal Dreams retreat classes. Lots of layers!

Hubby found this fabulous owl pic in a magazine

I'm entering both of these at Art Journal Journey and Valerie's 'Anything Goes' theme

We got out for a walk before the weather turned cold again.

A grumpy face on this tree!

Some of you will know this is one of my favourite views (and where it is!)

The 'view' from the bridge at the end of the path
Great to see the swans pairing up

The coot seemed to stay under the water for a very long time
I always associate Violets with April but these are looking very happy for March

Miniature Iris too

The Magnolia buds look like something from Day of the Triffids

From the Dunham Massey Winter Garden we headed back to the Visitor Centre

We had a coffee while were there but unfortunately no photo - this one is from the Garden Centre we called to on the way shopping last week.
It is here where I will join Bleubeard and Elizabeth of the Altered Book Lover for T Stands for Tuesday, where lots of lovely folk join them with their drink related posts.

Thanks for looking, Chris
