WOYWW 273
Good Morning! It was lovely to be away with our grandchildren and then away on our own for our anniversary, in a castle no less (ok - so we stayed in the coachman's quarters - but we did meet the owner at breakfast!)and I will post some pics as soon as I can get some more from my phone, however I did miss not having a phone or internet connection for most of the time! I wonder what you've all been up to on your desks(ooer missus! didn't mean it to come out like that!)Seriously I have missed being part of the WOYWW community for a couple of weeks - for details go to Julia's Stamping Ground - as long as you've got a crafty desk it's open to all!
There's evidence of a cover up job on my desk….
…I've had a page in one of my journals that I really do not like so I've started to cover it up, nothing stuck down yet as I'm not sure whether to keep some of it.
There are a few things to go back where they belong but I just got the idea to cover up and there they still sit!
Off to the cinema for the last trip of the school holidays with our eldest grandson now.
Here's a quick preview of some of our castle trip and if you want to see where we went with our grandchildren the pics are here.
Thanks for looking, hope to be round later, Chris

How lovely staying at a castle, I keep thinking of trying a journal but I keep putting it off.
Have a great week Jan x
Hi Chris, sounds like you have had a lovely time and who wouldn't enjoy time with their grandchildren :) Staying at a castle sounds like quite an experience and it looks beautiful in the photo. Hope you have a great week. Elizabeth x #46
Living in a castle? How grand!! Did you pretend to be Lady of the Manor? I would have, lol!!
So glad you've been having such lovely holidays - it's good to see you back though :-)
Hugs, LLJ 20 xx
Oh what fun, staying in a castle! I think just knowing that we can re-do any journal page just gives you a lot of creative freedom! Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #48
Staying in a castle sounds brilliant. I'm glad you have had a good holiday. Its good to know that if you don't like a page in your journal you can just start again! I do frequently!
Have a happy week

Sounds fabulous! Great idea to cover that page in your journal. I do that in my Smash books if there's a page I don't like or one that doesn't suit my ideas. Take care. Zo xx 41

I once stayed in a castle, years go (20+) - still have the bath stuff with the labels on. Lucky you.
Love the pink colour on your page - save it.
Hugs, Neet 14 xx
ps Leigh show is not at all expensive - it's the stands that take your money.
I can't wait to see the rest of that castle. That was a very tempting photo! My Grandmother's great Grandparents owned a castle. She showed me a photo once, but I was too dumb to care or even try to remember the name. All I remember is it was somewhere in the north of England. I recall she told me the British Govt. or someone (?) took it over during WWII to house troops or children whose parents sent them to the country. Like I said, I didn't pay that much attention, so can't even remember that bit. We didn't talk about her family much, because, after my biological Grandfather was killed in a hotel fire, and she raised two children on her own for at least 14 years, she married my Grandfather, who her parents said was "beneath her station." None of that made sense to me at the time, but now I understand "class" is a way of life in England. Not the same kind of class as in the US, where your social status is based on your income, not your heritage.
OK, I've written a book and didn't mean to. BTW, I hope you realize, my Grands raised me from birth.
