WOYWW 242

I don't seem to be doing very well in linking to Julia's Wednesday fly around the world for free 'Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday' so far in 2014!
Oh! I started keen - I could show the photos I took but never got around to showing you but today I've made it and this was my desk yesterday before we went to babysit(huh! they're not babies any more - x-boxes and computer games are the favourites these days - whatever happened to Thomas the Tank Engine and dolls?)
Not a lot going on, some book pages drying so that I can tear them up for journal pages and best of all - new stamps - I can't resist a  bargain.
I have been playing quite a lot in my art journals in between waiting for stuff to set or dry!
Here's one
Done on a background made mainly of mop up inks then doodled on - the quote is an Artistic Stamper one.
So, we are off to the cinema - to see American Hustle we think, last week we went to see 12 Years a Slave, some harrowing scenes but a fantastic film!

Hope to get around to visit when we get back, Chris

Hello Chris! You do have such a busy life, so I think it's a great achievement that you've posted today! I don't think I'm going to get round to posting on WOYWW today myself. I've also not been that good at it in 2014. I shall have to write a hundred lines on the subject in the coming week and aim to 'do better'! Anyway, enough of my ramblings! What a great idea to turn to the art journal while things are drying. I'd love to do that. I'll have to remember to get it out and have it to hand while I'm working. Hope the cinema was enjoyable. Happy WOYWW and well done you for posting - you've put lazy old me to shame! Julie Ann xxx

Hello Chris. Time just seems to fly doesn't it. I have made myself sit down and do this as I always seem to be busy doing for others so decided to do for me!!!!! Am also trying to do a journal this year - or did you already know that? Have a tendency to repeat myself now.Know what you mean about the grandchildren and how they change- ours are the same.

I hadn't joined in WOYWW in a while, and I'm glad to be back and seeing so much fabulous art journaling/mixed media. Yours is not exception. Glad I popped by. Susanne #66

Thank you for your visit today, and I hope you enjoyed the film. The last thing I saw was the second part of The Hobbit, great stuff. I am busy clearing out all my rubber stamps, apart from the odd one or two that I bought for a specific purpose. I am turning over almost completely to stamps from just two companies, my precious Clarity stamps and some good Hobby Art stamps. Both lots are see through and so much easier to create scenes. Glad to see that journal well on the way. Have fun with it. xx Maggie #21

Such a pretty page - love the soft, smoky colours in the background. Know what you mean about the "baby" sitting too. My niece and nephew are cuspish between the two states... I have no problem having fun with dolls and trains, but I find it hard to summon much enthusiasm for virtual dolls or treasure hunts or whatever's on the handheld computer...

For being number 1 this week, I've sure taken a long time to return your visit. I'm going to blame it on Blogger and life getting in the way. I love mop-up pages. It's like getting a free background that couldn't be replicated if you tried.

Sounds like you picked some great movies to see, since they both garnered awards at various award ceremonies. Again, happy VERY belated WOYWW.
