Hi everyone, I had intended to just carry on with my French adventures but last week we went across the Pennines to Harlow Carr gardens and thought you might like to see the beautiful colours there first. There are some already on my previous post.
We had a short walk before going for lunch...and joined this queue...
...for Betty's restaurant that overlooks the gardens.
As you can see our water came in a lovely glass with ice.
The food was delicious. Hubby chose a fish dish, while I had a mushroom and chestnut slice with glazed carrots and crispy potatoes.I will return to Harlow Carr next Tuesday to show you our afternoon walk.
Now for....Paris..
We intended avoiding public transport as much as we could during our stay so on our first day we walked to our favourite restaurant - Les Patios.
We reached Rue Mouffetard famous for its food shops and eateries
On past the back of the Pantheon
We sat facing the Sorbonne in Place de Sorbonne in shady spot under the trees. No photos of the food but we both had salads and then coffee and a shared dessert.
Our plan for the rest of the day was to go go to City Pharma for bargain priced toiletries then head back to the hotel and go out for a pizza. However, after we had been and picked up our bargains we decided to go to Luxembourg Park and take a picnic.
We explored the area around on our way there.
This skateboarder ran into the middle of the road at every traffic light change to have his attempt of jumping through a street installation filmed.
We had coffee and cake at a cafe up the end of this road - I will save it for another T day!
St Sulpice - we will be back here another timeWe sat and watched the tennis courts while we ate our picnic.
Parisians really know how to use their parks - this is a covered area for board games
Finally on the way back to our hotel we saw this - last time we came by here the fountain wasn't working.
Thanks for looking, Chris
