Parisienne garden for Second Look on the 2nd

Hi everyone, you know it doesn't take much to make think of Paris but when I was looking for a post for my second look I went back to July 1st 2015 and found that the post was about the gardens we visited that at year in Paris.

Well, with that I was in my craft room and making a page about that memory that will fit very nicely into my Art Journal Journey theme this month - 'Art For Arts Sake'
Nothing too taxing - a Distress Oxide background, some stencilling with DOx's and then I stamped a rose that was part of a gift from dear Elizabeth. I made a mask with a post-it-note and stamped some flowers in grey ink as a background.I used a very watery ink on my acrylic bloc to paint them all. The rose had little bit of watery silver added but it doesn't show here! I decided it needed a little more Wilted Violet to balance the Eiffel Tower so used a stencil that had open corners and moved it around to get a square. Finally stamped a Lin Brown sentiment.

So back to my my Second look and it's time to join Bluebeard and Elizabeth for a look at that post.
A click here will take you to Elizabeth's blog

Here is the post from July 1st 2015
              --------------------------------------
As promised, some more photos of Paris parks and gardens. We had lovely warm weather while we were there but as we left on Eurostar the rain started. I don't think I would like Paris as much this week as the temperatures have gone up again!
I showed you the Promenade Plantee in a previous post but Paris has so many beautiful outdoor spaces we will continue to find them next visit!
So…starting with
a square in St Germain where we sat to cool off having visited CityPharma for bargain skin care products(it was like the biggest sale crush you could imagine - we went back for some bite cream another day and it was just as bad but Oh! the bargains!!!)
This church garden was also in St Germain
On the Sunday we went to the Park(s)
First, Parc Montsouris, which had been recommended by our hotel receptionist! I had seen this park mentioned before but never been near it! Our hotel was near a bus route so off we went! Oh Wow!! This was a real treat! Parakeets in the trees, black swans on the lake and a beautiful place to be on a Sunday morning - the joggers thought so too!!

Guessing that these veggies are used in the park's very expensive restaurant!

From here we caught a tram - intending to go to Parc Andre Citreon but saw this on the way - another disused railway line.

Andre Citreon Park is a modern park - lots of concrete but still beautiful although some of the water features weren't working!

The balloon takes visitors up for a view of the park(at a cost!!)

After this visit we wanted lunch - just as my Paris Visite card decided it had had enough - so we had to find someone to give us another, which took us somewhere we hadn't intended to visit - I know this is not fair to you, but I will show you another time!
We went past the flower market though - an unexpected treat too!

Monday morning came - our last day but nearby we had saved Le Jardin Atlantique especially as we knew we could walk there. The garden is built above the platforms at Montparnasse - you can even see the train on a platform at one point! Office buildings surround the garden and it also includes 3 tennis courts and 2 table tennis tables!
Yes that is a train down there - it pulled out about 5 minutes later - we heard it!!!

If you ever go to Montparnasse station it's worth a trip up the stairs by platform 1!

      -----------------------------------------------------
As you may know on our last two visits we have stayed in a hotel quite close to Parc Montsouris and have walked there on our last days in Paris.
I am sure you can see why Paris is my favourite city!

I hope to see you soon! Thanks for looking, Chris

I really enjoyed your journal page today. I knew you would put those floral stamps to good use one day, and this is stunning. Paris is in my heart, and I always love it when you choose it as a theme. Thanks for sharing it as part of your theme this month at Art Journal Journey.

I remember this parks and gardens post from 2015. Revisiting this post, I was impressed with the raised beds in concrete, and laughed at your comment about the veggies being grown for the very expensive restaurant.

I was thrilled to revisit Parc Montsouris and the black swans, which we don't get here in the states.

I also enjoyed the Parc Andre Citreon with the very modern look, which was SO different from Parc Montsouris. It was such a treat to see the one fountain that was active at Parc Andre Citreon, too. SUCH an enjoyable revisit and a great Second on the 2nd, too. Amazing how you see things the second time around you missed the first time you visit. At least, that was how I felt today. Thanks for this.

It really is a magnificent page Chris, it's it fabulous how we can look back on our posts and still get inspired by older creations.
I've never been to Paris but hope to one day, it sure does look magnificent with it's mix of old and new styles.
Thank you for sharing your visit with us all.
Creative wishes Tracey x

I used to love visiting Pari but haven't been for quite a while now - can see why you love it though. Your blog page says it all - so romantic, so beautiful - you transported me back.
But then the park you had recommended to you, I must make a note of that - it sounds wonderful. Love all the parks you visited and must give the Montparnasse one a visit without a doubt.
Chris, you should ride a travelogue for Paris - seriously.
Hugs, Neet xx

First of all your AJJ is absolutely marvellous and so complex with all the painting and stamping and stencilling and such beautiful colours.
I've never been to Paris so thanks for all these photos which I studied avidly. It sounds like it was a great trip.

Parc Montsouris sounds a real find for you - you should do a travel journal of just Paris and all of your finds - reckon you could easily do it - turn it into a book - a best seller Chris!
Love your journal page, very evocative.
