Let It Snow!

I'm here with one last page for Valerie's 'When One Door Closes, Another One Opens' at Art Journal Journey.

I was sent this beautiful Christmas card last year, when I saw the little doors on the houses I set it to one side for Valerie's theme but then put things on top of it(as I do!)I found it yesterday so this is the very quick page I made.

I made a splodgy background and spattered some white and silver paint and used the silver paint to make a moon. Some silver paint is also along the bottom to make a hedgerow.
Would I like it to snow? Yes, as long as I don't have to go far in it!

If I don't see you for a while I'd like to wish you a Very Happy New Year!
Thanks for looking and for all the lovely comments you left here in 2021, Chris

Listening...

Hi everyone, my page for Valerie's 'When One Door Closes, Another One Opens' theme at Art Journal Journey today reminds me of the times we used to stand by our caravan door hoping for a glimpse of the owls we used to hear(we did occasionally see one flying quite close)

They were there for three or four years then sadly disappeared.

I gessoed a page in my Kraft journal, then inked through a diamond and a gothic window stencil and added some stamped text.

The stamped images come from two different Paper Artsy Lynne Perrella stamps.

I added a little bit of collaging and wash tape mainly at the bottom and some more ink around the edges.

I am finally getting to let go of more things I don't need. Hubby and I are both terrible hoarders and can easily convince ourselves that we need to keep things 'just in case'! If these last two years have taught us anything, it is that we don't need as much as we thought we did!

Thanks for looking, Chris

Flowers outside my door!

I have had a little bit of time today to make another page for Valerie's 'When One Door Closes, Another Opens' theme at Art Journal Journey.

The image is from a small paper pad and the flowers are Dina Wakley (stamped, tissue paper and one from a collage book) and some doodled.

My handwriting has totally let me down, rushed and in a fading light -just pleased the light didn't totally fade before I got a photo

I have been trying to catch up on visiting blogs but have hit a big problem on some posts.

Even when I have been on a blog and posted comments there are some posts that turn the comment box into a 'read only' page. I'll keep trying, but meanwhile I do try to leave a comment through another post on the blog.

Has it ever happened to you?

Thanks for looking, Chris

Merry Christmas!

Hi everyone, the shopping is done, the turkey delivered to my son's house, presents are wrapped and the little bit of cleaning necessary has been rushed through!

I have had some time to play, and I might say the inclination to do so, as my mojo, along with my usual positive attitude, totally disappeared.

I have made a tag for Tag Tuesday and Pinky's theme 'Anything Christmas'

I used up some scraps from my desk and the Tracy Easson Christmas tree is from a supposedly CAS Christmas card that I managed to get a big smudge mark on.

I also have a seasonal door entry for Valerie's 'When One Door Closes, Another One Opens' theme at Art Journal Journey.

I used two stencils and three different inks for the background and added some torn holly patterned napkin. The door images came from a postcard I bought years ago, Santa is a Crafty Individuals image and the words are mine printed out from the computer.

I must say I feel a lot more relaxed now, especially as we had a very quick walk at Fletcher Moss this morning. There was a little bit of Wintery sun and the birds were happy that it has stopped raining(so am I)
Some of the paths could only be accessed by those wearing wellies!

We certainly weren't going to try to walk on this!
We walked back and went in through another gate
One lone hellebore flowering

The cafe was busy - they only close on Christmas Day

We walked past the Didsbury ....we will go here for lunch one day when it gets warmer.
We took a short cut back to our car through The Parsonage gardens.

There are buds on the Magnolia tree

It's not all green and brown in the garden

There's only one thing left for me to say - I hope you'll have a very Happy Christmas.
Thanks for looking, Chris

T Stands for ........ Twinkles!!

Hi everyone, I'm coming to the party late again today - I've been making my last minute Christmas cake ( a recipe I have used for years that has pineapple in it)

I'm giving Paris a miss this week as I want to show you the lights at Dunham Massey (if you remember I showed some of the daylight pics here)

We booked for an early visit and of course there were lots of little children around. Some of the comments we heard made us smile!

We had a hot dog here but hands were too full to take a photo. Must say, we haven't had one for years and don't think we'll be bothering again for a while!

I took advantage of the nearly full moon to give a reindeer a white nose.
The house had series of images projected on to it

The Snowflake garden was one of my favourites

I just had to show my favourite view in the darkness

Finally, because of course I am here for T Stands for Tuesday at Bleubeard and Elizabeth's 'The Altered Book Lover' blog, we had a decadent hot chocolate.
Just right to warm us up!

All there is for me to say now is that I wish you all a Wonderful Christmas Time, and Thank you so much for every single time you visit.
Chris
