It's not all my fault!!

I'm sorry to have been MIA, I will try and make up for it!

After taking the car to be serviced on Friday we decided to go to the cinema as we weren't so far away - Mama Mia(Here we go again) was brilliant! I did wonder how Meryl Streep was going to fit in but she did...beautifully!! Of course Cher's appearance in the film had been quite highly publicised (at least here in the UK) and she definitely stepped up to the mark along with Andy Garcia!!!

Of course Friday night was also Scrabble night so it was home, eat and out and I confess to falling asleep in front of the TV afterwards!

So then, why wasn't I here on Saturday? We had to deliver a birthday gift and stayed chatting for a while(quite a long while) and were late going shopping. We had refused a coffee so I was thirsty by the time we reached John Lewis where we had to go and pick something up...there's a great food place there so we ended up having lunch..at quite a leisurely pace..the day was going by then so we went with the flow!!

By the time we had finished the shopping there were dark clouds which stopped me from taking a decent photo of a page I had made in dribs and drabs....I'm still not so sure about sharing this but hey!...Art For Arts Sake is the name of my challenge at Art Journal Journey so here it is!
It started with some leftover paint rubbed quickly through a flower stencil...
I also tested some black ink through new crackle stencil.
I drew around the flower shapes and then added Blueprint Sketch Oxides on top. A few more bits of stencilling and then I added some stamping - text, zig zags, circles and dots!
I used a flower that I had fussy cut from an old flower identification book and coloured it with the watered down oxide ink. Before I stuck it down I added some Crayola Twistables and spread it around bit to make it stand out!

I added the words - separated from  a JOFY set, and edged the page with the Twistable!

Thank you so much for all of the kind words on my blog, and Thank you for visiting today, Chris

Your twistables seem to be different from mine. I love what you did with this page. Stencils and stamps make this art at its finest. Sometimes we play and find hidden gems we've created. So glad you shared this with us as part of your theme at Art Journal Journal.

I've heard of the new movie, but know nothing about it, or any ofthe publicity. Glad you found it enjoyable.

I saw mama mia today myself and I also loved it. But I will admit during the baptism I started crying. And I love your piece today too. The background reminds me of a vintage delft tile design in some ways. Very pretty. happy new week. Hugs-Erika

Beautiful page Chris - lovely cool colour - just what we need here. Had to wait for our bedroom to cool down from 87f to 83f (around 1am) before we could attempt trying to sleep and still was stifling and I ended up watching youtube as I still couldn't sleep :(
... back to your lovely artwork - nice stencils and I had to google the 'twistables' - and saw a set on Argos - they look cool!
Have a great week..Gill xx oh and the film sounds great - glad you enjoyed it.

Oh Chris that looks really gorgeous what you created with the nice stencil motifs. A great page. I love the simple combination of blue and white color very much. Our breakfast dishes have been alway blue and white.
Happy new week.

Sometimes enjoying the little things keeps us too busy to blog, and it does sound like you've been having fun. I like the colors you chose for your flower design.
