Of course the weather didn't stop us going out!
We decided to visit Hawes where Wensleydale cheese is made.We have visited here many times.
I will start by joining Bluebeard and Elizabeth….
…...with our drinks and Cheese on toast which we had for lunch as soon as we arrived.
No, I haven't started drinking tea - the coffee is mine!
We both had delicious cheese on toast - we have had it before and it is accompanied by a sweet chilli jam.I waited a while until the groups in the corner left to take a photo, just in time as it filled again very quickly!
It doesn't look so busy here, but believe me, I had to wait a while for this pic too!
Afterwards we walked down to the village.
The falls were rushing over the rock with all the rain there had been.
On the other side of the road it was calmer
Here is the view as we walked over the bridge you can see above
Hubby looked over a wall at the hills and took this one
After a good walk around we returned to the creamery and bought some cheese (you can taste before you buy) and had a coffee and a shared scone before heading home via a scenic route.
Here a few of the photos I took - we stopped for a couple of shorter walks but some are from the car window.
We drove past Penn Y Gent..
…and I began to feel a little queasy so stopped taking photos. I hope you enjoyed seeing what I did take though!
Thanks for looking, I'll be round to visit in the morning, my new book (Girl On a Train) is by my bedside and I want to read a few more chapters! Chris

What an incredible place to visit, Chris. I think the falls were quite beautiful, and the bridge caught my eye, too. Of course, I enjoyed the view out the window at Hawes, too. It's certainly an impressive place, and I think your cheese toasts were beautiful to behold and looked good enough to eat. I LOVE cheese (which, along with coffee cream and butter proves why I could never be a vegan).
Thanks for taking us with you to Hawes, and then the scenic road back to your caravan, as well as your coffee and T's tea with us for T this Tuesday.
Hope that queasy feeling goes away quickly, because I'm getting really worried about you.
Wow. You live in a gorgeous area Chris with so many interesting places to visit. Is that an old aqueduct or a bridge in one of the photos? The cheese toast looks just delicious. Perfect for T day. Hope yours is great. Hugs-Erika
what a gorgeous visit you had yet again Chris! Love the scenic views-wow-so serene and pretty. And of course, you always have such lovely meals to share and make our mouths water too:)
Happy T day!
you have some fantastic views on your doorstep! the waterfall is wonderful!
Thanks for sharing the beautiful photos of good old England and off that lovely cheesy food, yummy. Glad you had a nice outing. Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie
Hope you are feeling much better 😀. The cheese factory visit looks wonderful, I'd be very at home sitting in the café looking at that beautiful scenery and eating cheese on toast, it would have to be tea for me though please (grin!). I loved joining you for the walks too, fabulous! Happy T Day! J 😊
WOW!Lots of gorgeous photos 💖💖 Thanks so much for sharing them with us. Love those falls and the bridge.
Happy T Day dear Chris
Brought back memories of the one time we went to Hawes. It was a stop off place on a coach trip and it was raining cats and dogs. The nearest place to the coach was a rope making place and it was terrific to see how rope was made.
The cheese on toast looks great so maybe we could go again next week as we will be up that way with an explorer train ticket.
Love Chrissie xx
Oh wow Chris, your photos are amazing! I especially love the water ones and the hill ones but they are all superb and make me want to visit! Hugs, Anne xx
A wonderful area Chris and that cheesy toasts look tempting!

I hope the queasyness has passed. (Too much cheese? lol). The photos are brilliant. The area is so beautiful.
Your cheese on toast certainly looks very inviting. I would have liked to try the chilly sauce too. Was it like the Chinese sweet chilli sauce?
Thanks for sharing those lovely photos,
Happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca

Lovely scenic shots, Chris, especially the ones of the waterfalls and bridge. What a nice outing. You guys always seem to make of best of things. The deck can wait for suitable weather.

I'm not big on cheese, but your lunch did look good. Beautiful scenery. The sheep reminded me of clouds on the ground. Thanks for sharing your day.
