Dreaming in my journal!

Yesterday I visited the Happy Stampers Festival at Port Sunlight with my friends Sarah and Helen - a small venue but packed with stampers all looking for more craft supplies and inspiration from the many demos! It was also great to meet up with so many friends, including some from blogland!
I had been hoping to get some clear gesso but couldn't find any anywhere…but I did find myself some of the new Distress colours - a little later than most of you, but Oh! how I love the Blueprint blue! Last night after 'Strictly' I started a journal page (on it's way to Art Journal Journey, where Sheila has chosen the theme 'Architecture')
The background was already in my journal - a mixture of leftover blue paints that had been smoothed on with a baby wipe. I used the Blueprint Blue and some Hickory Smoke (also new)through a couple of stencils and also used the blue to randomly stamp some swirls from a Visual Images set.
The PA Lynne Perella stamp was stamped onto the page and onto some cartridge paper. I love the way the ink fades into the paint surface.I also stamped the building again and cut it out. A lot of random stamping with texture stamps, some overstamped several times.
The idea of the palace on the boy's head being in his dream up in the clouds appealed to me (being a bit of a daydreamer in my youth)and I added the words from the Artistic Stamper. The palaces are outlined with silver pen(the one in the cloud also had Hickory Smoke distress pen outline too!

While I had the stamp out I made another page today, but I'll save that for another day!

Thanks for looking, Chris

Blueprint Sketch is my all time favourite of Tim's colours and you have used it so beautifully on your page! It was lovely to see you at Port Sunlight yesterday too, as always, I spent far too much.... Hugs, Anne xx

That IS a lovely blue. What really impressed me was the fact that you had something in common with the dreamer. The boy's head was truly in the clouds, and I loved the final entry. It is wonderful. Also, you are sneaky about your sneak peek, too!

Love the page - the blue looks fab (not got that one yet) Didn't Paperartsy have clear gesso amongst all their gels and bits? maybe they'd sold out.. hope you find some soon. Glad you had fun though.

What a wonderful spread Chris! I love it! Super to hear you had a nice day with creative freinds!
Thank you very much for linking to Art Journal Joureny!
If you don't get the clear gesso you can take matt medium instead ( a little bit thinned with water)- nearly the same effect.

A great page Chris. I love your new colour and the stamp is splendid. I was interested to read about the effect of the paint on the cartridge paper. Glad you enjoyed your trip out on Saturday. I went to a demo day at Coleman's Craft warehouse with friends on Saturday and had a lovely time. I bought a few goodies too. Have a lovely week. Barbxx

This is really lovely, so well balanced and with so much depth. Nice use of the new Distress colours. I like the little castle, it looks so right there up in the clouds.

Hi Chris it was such a treat to meet you at Port Sunny. I do hope we can get together very soon.

The new TH colour Blueprint is gorgeous, you have used it beautifully. I looked for the new TH colours and didn't see any, you must have looked harder than me lol.

Great page Chris, love the colour. I've just bought the blueprint sketch at the weekend, so you're not the only late commer! Hope you enjoyed the show, it always sounds like a good one for stampers.

Such lovely dreamy blues - and great to see some of those new colours in action (I thought I might not have to wait long!). Love the daydreaming boy - not building castles in the air so much as castles in the hair (sorry!). Great page.
