Building a journal page

The new theme at Art Journal Journey chosen by Sheila at Orange Esmeralda is Architecture and it prompted me into finishing a page I started while at the caravan at the weekend.
It is just a doodle really….
…a thought that went through my head. When I thought about it the words of the Beth Neilson Chapman song came to mind. We look forward to going up to the caravan - would it be any better if it was a house - more cleaning, more maintenance? No Thank You … I love it as it is!

We went for our walk in the sun this afternoon, I mentioned in the previous post that I wasn't sure where we would go, but in the end had to call at the Health centre so went off to Wythenshawe Park because it was on the way!

This lovely old cinema is now a Jehovah Witness Assembly hall and almost opposite the health centre
The rest of the photos are from the lovely park which about a mile away from home

The squirrel didn't stay around long once he saw us, several of his friends were around the park

The hall was owned by the Tatton family and in Winter 1643 Oliver Cromwell held siege at the hall until February 1644 when the Royalist owner gave in! The hall has had several owners and at the moment is being restored and opens occasionally to visitors. We were lucky enough last year to see inside on a visit with our grandchildren.
The grounds have lots of facilities including a cafe, an award winning community farm, tennis courts, golf course, bowling green playgrounds and beautiful gardens. Our grandchildren love to visit.

The courtyard cafe - we arrived too late for coffee!

The walk through to the playground and farm - we didn't go today!

I don't know why, but I am really pleased with this photo

We went into one entrance and out of the one near here.

Thanks for looking, Chris

Glorious sunshine, and I feel as though I've had a good dose of fresh air along with you - beautiful photos thank you.

And I love your journalling. I think "just a doodle" is a very unfair description - there's so much for the eye to enjoy and I love how the words are wandering around the page.

This is a wonderful journal page, Chris. I adore it, and it reminds me I should get my Houses AB back out. You doodle SO well!!

I really enjoyed your walk today. Too bad you were too late for coffee, but it just gave you more time to take even more lovely photos. And everything was so green and lush, too. I always, always love your photos showing places I will probably never visit in my life.

I loved looking at all the details in your page. the tower house, the rolling landscape, the flowers and all the pretty patterns. Thanks for a very original entry for the AJJ theme.
And then what a great walk in the sun with all the architecture and parkland, the old cinema and the Hall are marvellous buildings and look very well maintained.
