T stands for talking, tidying,trips and Thanks....mainly!!

Hi everyone, here I am late for T again! I am joining Bleubeard and Elizabeth today for T stands for Tuesday but this week has been a week of talking, mainly on the phone but also with friends and neighbours.
Today especially, as we attended the funeral of one of dear friends here, Ursula, with whom we played scrabble and as she was a crafter I have spent some happy times sharing crafty sessions too!
She was also our next-door neighbour so we saw quite a lot of each other!
Ursula was one of the Kinder Transport children that arrived in England before the start of World War II and she occasionally talked of those times. She contributed to a film "Into the Arms Of Strangers" which won an Oscar in 2000 for best documentary.
She was part of a large family and will be missed by them and her friends here!

We have had/made quite a few phone calls recently too and some trips out for meals or coffee with friends too! Lots of talking!!!!

I have also made a massive attempt (it's ongoing forever think!!)
to throw out unwanted items - lots of books I have read and kept, lots of scraps of paper, grandchildren's toys, long outgrown!!
I do not want to buy more storage so a lot has to go!!!

We have had a few trips too - our shopping trip on Saturday began with a walk around the Winter garden at Dunham Massey.

If you are thinking it all looks a bit grey you'd be right! We have has grey day after grey day until today when the sun shone all day and the only time we were outside were in the car to the funeral and a walk down to the doctors!!
There was a patch of brightness though, as these have been leftover from the Christmas celebrations!!!

In order to join in with T Stands for Tuesday I have gone back to another supermarket break in our shopping way back in October...
Hubby was lucky this day as he had cake and half a toasted teacake with butter!

Thank you to all of you who sent me such beautiful cards and e-cards for Christmas
On the top row from left to right - Yvonne, Jo, Sarah, middle row Shaz, bottom row Joan, Avril and Eileen.

Last but absolutely not least is this Friendship tree tip in and the most beautiful quiltlet from Elizabeth - the photo does not do this justice - the sewing and the colours are just the most beautiful!
I have added the envelope from both Eileen and Elizabeth with the fabulous stamps too!
Thank you!!!

Will be on my way to bed soon but will try to get my visits in tomorrow morning!

Thanks for looking, Chris

I was looking for you :-) I enjoy pictures and posts from parts of the world far away from me and you always provide those things. Good luck with the purging of unwanted things. I sometimes congratulate myself on being brutal with a cleaning out only to find a month later it looks like I could do it again. How do things keep piling up?

I'd say there was plenty of color on your walk. You found lots of flowers already blooming, and I really enjoyed them.

You got some wonderful cards, dear. That's why I don't make cards. The ones you go were over the top. So glad you got my package, too, belated as it was.

I always love it when I see T so happy. That was a great shot of him, and his cake and teacake. That looks yummy. I'm now off to find something to eat for the first time today, since his cakes made me very hungry. I'll supply my own coffee, so you can drink your own. Thanks for sharing your walk, your cards you got for Christmas, and your trip to the grocery showcasing drinks and cakes with us for T this Tuesday.

And thank you SO much for your kind words about my gift. All I can say is, it was made with love and a whole lot of prayer (grin).

Sorry to hear about losing our friend Ursula but other than a funeral it sounds like you are having fun and living life to the fullest. What a nice way to start a new year! Hope it was a happy T day. hugs-Erika

it is hard to loose a friend, i´m feeling with you... you will remember the good times, but you will miss her anyway.
a nice walk - can i trust my eyes to see snowdrops already? and the pink blooming plant is gorgeous! scrolling through these photos i thought you could call it "twins and mirrors" - couples of swans, goose, trees, nutcrackers, and some mirroring in the water... beautiful!!!
a happy week ahead for you and your husband!

Looks like agreat walk and there is always something bright to see amongst the gloomy winter days. It looks like you founhd a nice place for your refreshments too.

Good luck with the tidying. We are doing just that at the moment and it is the turn of the crafty room now so I will have to up my game. Vic thinks the best way to do this room is to get rid of sets of plastic drawers stuffed with things I have forgotten about---I am protesting but it may be in vain

Hope T Day went well

Love Chrissie xx

The photos from your walk look lovely Chris, you even saw some colour on a grey day and I know it was a while ago but the cake for T day looked delicious.
Good luck with the clearing out of unwanted items, I must make it a priority for myself as well.
Belated T day wishes Chris.

You _have_ been busy! I'm sorry for your loss. She seems to have led an interesting life.

It seems Spring has come there! It makes me want to plant something :) That food looks tasty, and I'm looking at the clock to see how close to lunch-time it is lol Happy T Day!

I watched that documentary! Sounds like she was a lucky girl to land where she did.

Lovely photos! Too cold to go outside here. It's 2 degrees F or -17 C. A wonderful day to be warm inside and "retired"--LOL! ;)

Visiting from T day a day late:) So sorry to hear of the loss of a beloved neighbor/friend. May it be of comfort remembering all the laughter and shared times together.
Your photos are just beautiful and I especially love the ones with the reflections. Lovely cards and gifts you received for the holiday.
Hubby does look quite happy about those cakes:):) Happy New year and a belated happy T day too!

I'm sorry to hear about Ursula. She sounds like a very interesting lady. I have not seen the film/documentary unfortunately. It would be the sort of thing I would like to see.
The flowers look lovely, particularly the snowdrops and the crocusses.
Great photo of hubby and his cake. But my eyes went to the toasted teacake. It is my favorite and (when they were still around) I used to stop at The Little Chef especially to get a toasted tea cake.
Happy T-Day,
Lisca

So sorry for the loss of your friend, Ursula. Such beautiful flowers in the Winter garden. We've had a fairly mild Winter (I am not complaining) but no flowers. Cake and tea cake sounds so delicious. I watched an episode of Marie Kondo's method of getting rid of clutter. I did some stuff in the Young One's room while she is visiting a friend out of state. So much easier to declutter when you have no emotional attachment to the stuff. Kinda wish someone would come and declutter me while I'm out of the house. Happy Decluttering and Tea Day

So sorry about the loss of your friend, Chris. What a difficult start in life she had.

I'm very surprised to see so many bulbs poking up at this time of year. Is that normal?!

Thanks for sharing all your lovely cards.

Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend - that will be such a loss. We also have friends who were on the Kindertransport... such an extraordinary act of courage and compassion in those awful times. Lovely to see all those thoughtful cards and gifts - and another lovely day out - thank you for sharing it.
