T Stands for..............tardy and the big red bus

We seem to be like the new Doctor Who hurtling through time - where did last week go? We haven't watched Dr Who for a while but I think we will continue at least for a while as we really enjoyed seeing Jodie Whittaker in the role!
Edit - David Tennant is still my favourite Doctor
While talking about time I must show you my wonderful ATC from Eileen - it has taken a while to get here, it may well have travelled around the world!
There were some lovely bits and pieces from Eileen, as well as her beautiful ATC - Thank you so much!!

Now, I am taking you back to Budapest, I am sorry the planned post never materialised!
As I mentioned last week I got my days mixed up! On our second day in Budapest we caught the Big Red Bus! It was a hop on - hop off bus so that our ticket lasted all day and we could go on three different routes in turn! It was a sunny day and we managed to get upstairs and under a canopy most times we hopped on!!
We caught it half way around, near our hotel, here is the ticket lady!
We collected earphones and plugged into the commentary.
It was great to see the Parliament buildings from different angles..

... old statues and modern street art
We crossed over into Buda - to visit the Palace, the castle and St Matthias church - one of the most impressive I have seen(it may have a post of it's own some time!)

 There were some magnificent statues!

These lovely guys were squatting down originally with the guy at the back in their photo but when I asked if I could photograph them he ran to join them!! We had a lovely chat but I can't remember their names!
The best thing for me were the views across the river.
We headed back over the river for some food and came across this place playing old jazz and crooners - perfect for a warm evening - once again the food was delicious
I am joining Bluebeard and Elizabeth for T Stands for Tuesday.
Hubby had a coke(Yes Elizabeth, it arrived in a glass bottle)and I had water with ice and lemon.
Hubby had chicken, I had pork.
Do you think I went too far??? This was the dessert we were about to share. He was waiting for me to eat the triangle from the end!

After this a little walk! The moon was just rising.
The next night we spotted birds flying around the Parliament roof after dark (none during the day)and tried to work whether they were real or part of a light show!
We discovered on our last night there that they are real, and after a sunny day the metal on the roof creates thermal pockets that the seagulls in the area come to play in!!

We stood and watched for while before heading back to our hotel.

Next time will be our last day in Budapest before heading to Vienna.

Thanks for looking, we are off for a walk now, but I will be back later. Chris

wow Chris- Eileen's pkg must have had some trip!! Happy to see you received it intact though. It was a lovely thing for Eileen to do for us T girls. Your photos of Budapest- especially the buildings are just magnificent-wow!!! Always even better to have such nice days. Gorgeous night views of parlaiment and the lighting and birds. And what delicious looking plates of food. I must say hubby does look a bit impatient regarding the dessert-lol. Thanks for sharing and happy T day!

Those views are wonderful! And that church! I can't get enough of that gorgeous church :) I'd certainly have enjoyed the jazz, too, and the food looks delicious -especially that dessert. The night-time views are a treat! Happy T Tuesday

i enjoy watching Jodie Whitaker as the Doctor. I think she's going to do a great job in the role. Mind, she's not My Doctor. My heart belongs to 10, David Tenant.

I can't get over the architecture in this city. Magnificent! In the dessert photo, your Hubby looks the way Himself looks at me when I yell, Don't Eat so I can take a photo. :-D Happy T Day

Now I know you spent your first few posts in Pest. What gorgeous photos you took of the Parliament, and your time in Buda produced some gorgeous architecture and statues, too. Everything was gorgeous. Those night shots were incredible, and I had NO idea they were sea gulls I was looking at.

Your husband's meal looks better to me than yours. I didn't eat pork even when I ate meat. I LOVE the buckets of fries (chips) you got and I think that is SO clever. Thanks for sharing your time in both Buda and Pest with us, then taking us to lunch with water and coke for T this Tuesday.

I don't think we get Dr. Who here, at least not on the channels I get. I've looked for it. I want David Tennant back, though. I have a big crush on him (and Benedict Cumberbatch, too).

I love Budapest! I would love to go.... you have such exciting adventures.

I love Dr Who, always watch it, and thought Jodie was very good too. Didn't really see what all the fuss was about having a female Dr Who, (not being a feminist) but think she was just great. Like you, I loved David Tennant too. and Matt Smith, too actually.

I absolutely loved seeing your trip to Budapest, Chris! My children love history and geography. Both my boys were crowded around the computer looking at the pictures from your trip. They loved the colorful roof of the church. I asked them if they knew where Budapest was and they didn't know so we just looked it up. The food looks delicious but by far my favorite pictures were the ones of the parliament building at night. Magical! I am looking forward to seeing Vienna. ;)
Happy Tea Day,
Kate

You're very welcome Chris. I can hardly believe it took 3 months for my ATC package to arrive! I sent it air mail. It must have waited on standby ;-)

Your 1st photo of the Parliament buildings just took my breath away. They're so ethereal. Your views across the river are lovely and your nighttime shots are spectacular!!!

The seagull light show must have been beautiful to watch. Thanks for the explanation or I wouldn't have believed you.

Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen

I love seeing Budapest Chris. It looks like a beautiful city. I hope you have more because it's fun doing these armchair travels. And I enjoyed the new Doctor too. They did a simulcast showing here so we didn't have to wait this time. :) Hope it was a happy T day. Hugs-Erika

What beautiful buildings and statues! Thanks for bringing us along.

I have never watched Dr. Who, but have heard about it a lot recently. I wonder if Netflix carries it. Dr. Who has switched to a woman now. That must be to some like Agent 007 suddenly being a woman. Love that! ;)

What a lovely ATC from Eileen and all the other things she managed tocram in the envelope. I'm sure it has gone all the way around the world!
I have lived in the UK for many years, but I don't think I have ever watched Dr Who. Although I do recognise the signature tune, which I like a lot. A female Dr Who? Why not!
Your photos of Budapest are beautiful. I have never been there so I really appreciate you sharingthe images. My cousin married a Hungarian girl, and she shows me photos every time she goes back to see her family. So beautiful.
What fun that the Jewish guys were happy to be photographed. It made a different type of picture.
I love the story about the birds playing on the thermals. How interesting.
Thanks for sharing,
Happy belated T-Day,
Lisca
