Autumn Treasure in my small journal

We have just got back from a few days away at our caravan. Some of the time was taken sorting the garden out before the weather changes. One of the hydrangea bushes was so laden with blooms this year that were hanging on the ground.
I love how they have changed from their usual pale pink to this deep red.
As you can see now that they have been cut back there were some blue blooms among them.

I know that they won't flower so well next year but the stems won't struggle so much to stay upright.
The leaves around don't seem to be changing much but I have made a page in my A6 journal in anticipation that they will soon.
Having seen Seth's post on Friday I used some of my new Seth Apter stamps and stencils using ink along with some Distress Crayons and Crayola twistables to make the background. I have ink at the caravan but my Fresco paints are all at home!
The leaf is a die cut TH Tattered leaf that I coloured with Distress crayons and then used the maple leaf from Lin Brown's Paper Artsy set ELB29 to stamp some veins on. I coated it with Art Basics Transparent Glossy gel medium to give a shine.

would like to enter Paper Artsy Challenge - Topic 19 - Die Cuts

as well as linking to Art Journal Journey where the theme is Autumn

and Anything But Cute where Challenge 18 is An Autumn Day

It will not surprise some of you that we are off again soon(where?…wait and see!!) but while we are home I hope to get some blog visiting done!

Thanks for looking, Chris

Wow- that hydrangea is gorgeous. We had a lot on our plant this year too, and last year barely a flower. But I love your journal page. A single leaf says so much. I love the text on the leaf too.
