Curiously flat!

In my attempts to make flatter cards to go through the post I used a  Tim technique - the details cannot be revealed but the direction to the page I used is here at Linda Ledbetter's Compendium of Curiosities 3 - challenge 16 along with the rules.
The challenge is being sponsored by the Funkie Junkie Boutique

The light is dreadful even though these were taken before three o'clock - a rain storm was on it's way - I had to resort to the daylight lamp overhead!
Although I used the tree stamp from Tim's Just Believe collection I decided not to fussy cut as I liked the conical shape.
As you can see I've been at the copper paint again to do some faux gilding!

I am attempting to get around to returning some comments but having been away for a few days(who said 'Again!"?)I'm on  big catch up!

On 'baby' sitting duty tonight so I suspect some X box practice will be required!!!

Thanks for looking, Chris

Hello Chris! You and I must be a lot alike! I find it difficult to do "flat", too. But somehow things with a lot of dimension don't fare well when trying to shove them into an envelope. haha Your card really turned out pretty. Great use of Tim's layered stenciil technique to create your trees. They look really good! Thanks for sharing with all of us at CC3C. <3 Candy

Great textural card Chris, love the music notes in the background. I also find doing flat cards more challenging.
Have fun babysitting and enjoy your weekend.

You did an excellent job making a flat card Chris, I avoid them as much as masculine cards!! lol It's gorgeous and your Tim Holtz stencil technique turned out just fantastic! The colours are stunning too! big hugs :)

Oh Chris, I love those trees. I would not have fussy cut them, either. The grandeur of them shows better this way. This is a gorgeous card, and I am going for only flat cards this and every year, too. I;m so glad you have chosen this approach (as I mentioned a few days ago), because I am so in awe of what you create. Thanks for sharing, and I understand how life gets in the way of visiting internet friends.

Love your card Chris, the trees look fantastic, but I think the whole card has turned out beautifully! I think a lot of us struggle with flat cards, but I think yours has turned out really well!

I feel your pain about mailing bulky cards and also trying to take good photos indoors on a dreary weather day. Your card turned out lovely, and I'm so glad you shared it with us in the Compendium of Curiosities challenge.
