Solitude

I am normally quite happy to go with the flow, but this week the flow has taken me on a bit of a meander and today I just wanted to stop and think for a while!
Yesterday(you know how my week started if you read Tuesday's post)we went off for the day at my son's house for the second electrician visit! Things had to be moved in between visits so he could complete the work - new sockets, moving switches etc.
This was fine, as there is now an isolation board so we had electricity for most of the day (fresh coffee…yay!)and I was able to complete a few journal pages.

We had planned to go to our caravan today, but having had so much time away from home there were things to be done! Hubby wanted us to go into town - much as I love going, I sent hubby off on his own.
So this page, which I actually started last week, actually means more today than it did last week
The wolf on the edge of the cliff is an image transfer. I used Matte Multi medium to transfer the National Geographic photo onto a page I had made with spray inks. I added some stamped tree tops for the wood in the valley and a computer generated quote. You can read about Martin Buber here. I resisted the temptation to add anything else.

This is my latest entry for Art Journal Journey - the theme is 'If you go down to the woods' I am hosting this month and I would love to see you there

We do hope to get to the caravan but…the plasterers have a bit of work to do at my son's tomorrow so we we may go on from there…we'll see!!

Thank you for all the lovely comments you have been leaving for me, I hope things calm down little bit now and I can do some visiting!

Thanks for looking, Chris

Such a wonderful and compelling journal page dear Chris. The darkness, with the wolf and the light are a completely opposite yet wonderful and together true harmony.
Thank you for your theme this month. I'm quite new her and just love seeing all the wonderful work of different journalers from all over the world.
Love and hugs from Germany.

Such an emotive page and great quote too. The mountain whilst so solid has a fragility to it. love it.

Wow, I've never been so taken with a page that really has no focal point other than the page itself. I think the atmosphere of your art speaks for itself on this one! How did you do that!!!! Absolutely incredible Chris! hugs :)

This is a stunning painting, Chris, so dramatic, and it gives the impression of space and solitude.
I am very impressed that you image-transferred the wolf so successfully, as I've not had much success with this technique, and you have inspired me to try it again.
The textures and lovely colours you've used are marvellous too.
