While he was still here the HKA came to do my ironing, so then it was coffee time!
Yesterday I had started to prepare my room for a change of desk drawers - I now have a small filing cabinet - so things piled onto my desk all needed to go away! So since after lunch I have been trying to fit in things that came out of two small drawer sets into one filing cabinet - err…they won't go…yet..I have started to look at my stash and consider giving some away!
All this meant that getting my journals from underneath everything had to wait!
I am joining Bluebeard and Elizabeth for a second look at something that has already been seen on my blog.
A second look on the 2nd |
Final few pages
One of my journals is very nearly full - I can hardly believe its over two years since I started this particular journal at an Introduction to Art Journaling workshop with Lindsay Mason way back at the start of February 2011. We had some laughs that day!
The journal is a Rymans one that Lindsay provided for each of us and it has been a faithful friend for all that time. Around that time I had two other journals on the go - a small A6 one and another A5 one with watercolour paper but this has been the one I've turned to mostly - I love it so much there's already a replacement waiting to be started (although I now have a variety of journals of different sizes and with different papers)
Here is one of the latest pages
This page came about simply because I was sorting through some old scraps(with the intention of throwing them away)They have been in a little pencil case for ages but when I found them I just couldn't do it! The white butterflies are from some cup cake holders(Sainsbury's I think)The tape and stamps are fairly new(TH). The stick on moth was also found during my sort out - tucked inside a folder - a whole book of crowded attic idea-olgy stickers with only a few used - how did that happen? I'm going to be using more of these now I've found them.
Now the funny thing is - when I saw the challenge at Our Creative Corner I scratched my head and decided this was one challenge I wouldn't be doing - I mean, I use all my stuff right? I don't forget what I have - I may mislay it but I know it's there - ahem! I'm saying no more till the craft police arrive!!!
So, yes, I am going to link to this challenge:-
Our Creative Corner - Forgotten Things
Thanks for looking, I'll be back with some more pages soon, Chris

I was inspired to follow this template to make a new page.
I have used a Crafty Individuals photo of a bluebell wood, the tape is the same (except the red bird one)and the corrugated card is from the box our weekend croissants come in.
The birds are either stamped or from a napkin added with gel medium. The definition from an old dictionary.
I hope you will be tempted to come and join in at AJJ this month, I will enjoy seeing what you spy in the woods!
I'll be back with a scheduled post later in the week with a bit of woodland fun!!
Thanks for looking, Chris

Goodness Chris, I don't see how you do it. Your latest creation is incredible. I adore your take on the AJJ theme, and hope to find time to join in.
Of course, your Second look was simply fantastic. I certainly wouldn't mind finding those forgotten butterflies, because they are just what I need right now. This is a genuine beauty.
Thanks for sharing this Second Look on the 2nd, as well as your latest AJJ entry. Good luck with the organizing, too!
I love pages about nature, so this is my kind of page. I love texture and all those buggies. Hugs!
