T Stands for - taking it easy!

We had a longer break than usual last week so I apologise for late visits (I think I got to everybody though!)
We were able to spend more time at out caravan - good weather was promised and we have finally completed the decking!
The internet connection is getting worse and I have decided it's not worth worrying over - I will visit when I can but sometimes I don't even get chance to read a post before it cuts off!
It gave us a chance to get out too!
On Thursday we went up to Kendal - I had couple of visits I wanted to make and we also thought we would take a look at the sales!
The ducks were on a little island in the River Kent - this is the river that was a raging torrent in the Winter!

Here is where I join Bluebeard and Elizabeth for T Stands For Tuesday!
Our first stop was Farrer's where we had tea(hubby) and coffee(me) and shared a toasted teacake (a sweet yeast bread bun that has raisins in it)

Hubby smothered his with jam!

We had  wander around the shops and then went to our favourite place for lunch - Baba Ganoush……except….it was strangely rather deserted and the menu had been halved with none of our favourites on!
We opted for a chicken, avocado and sun dried tomato ciabatta and while it was OK I don't think we will be going again for a while!
We later learned, while chatting with friends that it has changed hands…shame!!

We called into Aldi on the way home and I found these - £2.49 for 6 pots of neon paints - they had other colour sets too but these appealed to me most!
Below are the results of a playtime with them

They mixed to make more subtle colours too!
There may just be a clue as to what my ATC's look like….
In case you didn't know we are celebrating 4 years of T Stands For Tuesday over at The Altered Booklover

Looking forward to seeing what everyone has been drinking this week!
Thanks for looking, Chris

Those were fun colors of paint to play with. Loved the first photo of your hubby with the cup in his hand!
I added a little extra something just for you at the end of my post in response to your comment on last weeks post. :)

What a great post. Loved the expression on T's face when he slathered jam on his tea cake. I also loved the photos of your time out and about, and your visit to the various shops.

Too bad about Baba Ganoush. I know you have raved about that place before. The same has happened to a couple of places Sally and I like to visit. Once they change hands, it seems they don't last very long after that, which is a sad thing.

You are such a tease with the ATCs. Aldi where I live only sells groceries, the kind you bag yourself. I'd love to find some of those paints where I shop, but obviously, your Aldi and my Aldi are far different.

Thanks for sharing your walks, your breakfast of tea and coffee, and your lunch with us for T this Tuesday. I can't wait to see your ATC. Guess I'll have to, though! And it sounds like Deb already is ready to send hers to you.

Always yummy posts of the places you eat and drink.

Nice to know your decking job is finished and also that the weather was good this time. I think it is nice to have little or no internet sometimes it takes us back to times before it was actually a part of our lives at all.

Have a very Happy T Day Chris

Love Chrissie xx

I always love seeing where you get off to Chris. Too bad the restaurant changed hands. I think if you get to enjoy a place and then it changes its such a let down even on your memories a bit. But the paints are super fun. I don't get to Aldi often but have never seen paints in ours here. Your colors are super. Happy T day. Hugs-Erika

Your hubby made me smile. He's such a good sport about having his picture taken while trying to enjoy his delicious lunch. Playtime with the neon colors looks fun. All your combinations would make great ATCs. Have a Happy T Day!

Yay - the decking is done! I bet you're enjoying that, Chris. The teacake looks yummy. I love sweet yeast breads. Uh-oh, I thought it sounded like Baba Ganoush has new owners. Maybe they'll get the bugs out in time.

You got some lovely effects with your new neon paints. Can't wait to see your ATCs!

Happy T-Day! Hugs, Eileen

The teacake with butter looked delicious, guess what I will buy next time we shop.
Glad you were lucky with the weather in the caravan. For once we had good internet, but I do know how you feel about lack of reception.
The new paints look super, such vibrant colours, enjoy using them.
Happy T day

Hi Chris, looks like you have been having lots of fun. The river looks so peaceful now, shame about the cafe changing hands. Those paints were a bargain and so bright! Happy belated T day and thanks for visiting and your lovely comments, I do love the new chairs, need to get cracking on the crochet. I am buying it much quicker than I make stuff and I have a huge mountain of yarn!
