At last!!

I don't know where the time is going - here we are almost halfway through the month and this is the first time I have had a chance to take part in the Art Journal Journey challenge - Autumn - my favourite time of year!
I have been busy working on projects I can't show you yet, in between  worrying about hubby! He hasn't been too good but…you know men…won't go to see a doctor!!! Today however he seems a lot better, and we have had had a trip into town to see the Christmas lights…except…they are such poor show it was hardly worth bothering! Still, the Christmas Market opens on Saturday and we have an invitation to go for a coffee with son number 3 next Tuesday and have a look around! I think the council rely on the market to provide the Christmas spirit…we shall see!!
Anyhow! Here is my page
You will have seen the background here as part of my page that I used in a digital piece.
I used a poppy head stamp(an old Elusive Images one) but extended the diamonds across the page. The cornflower stencil was used with different distress inks. I do love seeing the leaves and all their colours but I also love seeing seed heads that become more obvious once the leaves have died down. My word "JOY" (Lost coast designs I think)sums it up nicely!

Thanks for looking, Chris

I'm with Valerie. I adore the muted colors and they are a true JOY to look at. A friend sent me a couple of those stamped sayings years ago, and now I know what stamp design they came from. Thanks for sharing that information.

I hope the market turns out to be a better indication of the Christmas spirit this year. I'm finding very little here.

Great page, Chris! Hope hubby is ok, but I'm as bad for not going to the Dr... Our lights will be turned on on Saturday but they're not much usually either. Can't believe it, must be time to get my Christmas card production really started!!

I love how you distressed the edges intensely with the reddish brown. And you are right about the seed heads, there is something about them that draws us to them. Great page to celebrate fall!

Terrific ideas on the page and it will make a great background for the future I'm sure.

I think that all council have such cut down budgets now that Christmas decorations have slipped down the list of priorities. Never mind the shops will still be decorated

Love Chrissie xx

A long overdue visit Chris from me....this is a beautiful journal page, the muted shades are so lovely (brown is always perfect!) the texture is wonderful and the choice of images just blend together perfectly. Ruth xx

Absolutely scrumptious sepia tones and texture. I love the flowers and seed pods just hovering there - brilliant stamping.

Hope your husband is still doing better, and I hope you enjoy the Christmas market more than the lights!!
