A change is better!

I had a journal page that I started about 10 days ago but no matter what I did it just did not look right! It has hindered my thoughts on other projects so this morning I ripped up the bread wrapper from last night and covered it over!
I feel as though I can move on now - is that silly of me?
I screwed up the paper and smoothed it out to fit and ran a Wild Honey distress pad over the creases.
Stencilled around the top edge and inked the sides and bottom using Ground Espresso Distress (I love that colour!)
I stamped the Mushroom group(Stampotique) and coloured it using distress markers. The linen effect stamp around the edges is part of a PA JOFY mini stamp.
I spattered some Antiqued Bronze distress stain over everything and then used what was on my mat to paint in the stalks and grass. A gel pen was used to add little dots to the mushrooms.

I would like to wish all of my friends in the US a Happy Thanksgiving Day!

Now I feel happier with this page I am linking to Art Journal Journey at last!!I had so many ideas for this theme of Autumn but time is running short now!

Thanks for looking, Chris

Fantastic page, Chris. Wanderful background texture and I like the soft colour. The quote is great, too.

You are not silly at all Chris - in fact you sounded quite logical. I do love your journal page! It all works out in the end.

When I was in grad school, I had a very heavy course load, but couldn't even THINK about my homework until after I had cleaned every inch of my house. Like you, I couldn't move on. Now I'm not as particular as I used to be, but I can still relate to that not being able to move forward. In the end, this is a beautiful and muted textured piece that I really like.

I don't think it's silly at all... I know when I can't get a project to work it becomes all-consuming, and nothing goes well until I've either sorted it out or given myself permission to give up (for now). And the result of your bread wrapping action speak for themselves - the honeyed creases are fantastic, and I love that mushroom.

You gotta do what you gotta do and if you end up with results such as this after covering a page with a bread wrapper, well the results are before me!
I love the magical feeling you achieved as I certainly feel as though I am walking through a glade with a mere hint of sunlight dabbling through the leaves and watching my step around the mushroom.
