T Stands for the last - the first...

Hi everybody, I promise there will be more Kew photos but for now I am still showing France photos from the Summer! It's good to think back to those hot days now, even though at the time we were pleased it was cooling down by the time it came to our last day of staying near Poitiers with our friends, my ex SIL and BIL!
I took this photo from the bathroom at 5.30 in the morning.... it promised to be a lovely day!
We have driven through Vouille several times but never really stopped there except to visit Le Cheval Blanc a lovely restaurant near the river, so we planned to revisit the restaurant and also have a look around the town.
We started at the church of St Radegonde.

Radegonde was a princess and a Frankish Queen.she escaped fighting in her country and sought sanctuary from the church. She was said to have the power of healing the sick! She was also a Vegan.
She founded the abbey in Poitiers and as you will see from the map is the patron saint of many churches in France as well as some in England.
It is  beautiful little church and our friends saw displays that they hadn't seen before.
We walked towards the restaurant...

We passed this lovely vintage shop.

Sadly, the restaurant was closed for staff holidays so we went back to the square where the church was to a lovely Italian Pizza place and it is here where I will join Bleubeard and Elizabeth for T Stands For Tuesday.

 The starter was quite large...
But we still managed the brochette of chicken which we opted for while our friends had pizzas!
When the party of workers had left I sneaked a photo of the decor!
We spent our last afternoon chatting before being driven to catch the train - and it was beginning to heat up again!!

Our first night in Paris was spent local to the hotel and guess what we had to eat...pizza!

My AED photo is not of my art but this, which is now on the corner opposite the hotel, someone painted over Tin Tin!

So, to our first day in Paris, where this was the view from our room
It was about to be a day of walking!

Here is my AEDM stamp for Day 4

Thanks for looking, Chris

These are all fabulous photos. I wish mine would come out that good. Your meal looks good. At first I thought that was shrimp on the skewer, but you said chicken. Whatever, it looks yummy! Happy T day!

I never heard of Saint Radegone. Good on her! I have to look her up. The little town is very pretty. Too bad the restaurant you wanted to eat at was closed, but looks like the pizzeria was a nice place also. Happy T Day

Now it's time for your host to apologize. I am SO sorry I missed this last night. I was off voting yesterday. That is an incredible church and such a great back story about Saint Radegone. I enjoyed the church photos as well as the photos from around the town on the way to the closed restaurant you had chosen. However, the meal you had looked delicious at the pizza place. Not sure what the drinks were other than water, but I appreciate you sharing them with us for T this week.

So glad to also see your time in Paris. LOVE that mural, and also that latest stamp you created, too. You are VERY busy, as usual, dear.

Oh, shame about Tintin - he always makes me smile. That brochette looks really delicious, and I love the local shops and streets in this post. Great vintage industrial postage stamp art - still on course, I see!

What a beautiful sunrise! And the church of St Radagone is lovely. What a story. I had not heard of her.
The town looks very pleasant with nice parks and a modern Mairie. What a shame the restaurant was closed, but your chicken 'kebabs' look yummy.
Sorry for being so late again,
Happy belated T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
