I can hardly believe that it's a whole month since the beginning of the year! We thought we were going to take things at a more leisurely pace to start the year but that hasn't happened, although we have had time to visit the cinema more often! (more later)
I bet Julia at the Stamping Ground can't believe that this is the 400th WOYWW since she started this fabulous link up!
My desk is in need of some care but, believe me, the rest of the craft room is getting better!
The only thing that wasn't there before I took this photo is the tag which the other week hadn't been touched since I sorted some bits and pieces out for it…it is still waiting for some ribbon or thread to finish it though!
The paper covering my desk has some testing of a newly carved stamp - I am quite pleased with it although it took a bit of tweaking!
The Carabelle Studios star stamp needs putting away and my little scrap box is overflowing(no surprise there!)
Cinema Trips
I think I have space for a couple of film reviews!
"Lion" which we saw last week was just what it promised to be - an uplifting true story of a boy separated from his mother when he was young and re-united after being adopted in Australia, miles away from his home in India! The time passed so quickly and showed some great scenery too!
Yesterday was hubby's choice - "Hacksaw Ridge" - I must confess I knew nothing about the film and judged it from the poster - I wasn't looking forward to it at all! How wrong could I be? Yes, there is a lot of blowing ups and gore but the story is an amazing true story. Although I did feel slightly wrung out towards the end of the film the final scenes lifted me up again!
We went into Manchester instead of our usual cinema and we both saw the film for the grand total of £4.50, (quite a saving from our usual) Of course we used Two For One code from Compare the Market.
We then went for a free lunch(strictly an Afternoon Tea) by using a voucher I had from M and S! As we had gone by the Metro with our free passes it was a great outing for the price!!!
I am on my way to visit!
Thanks for looking, Chris

Great you enjoyed the film Chris..sounds interesting to me and your desk looks great to me as always!
I so love going to the cinema it's so much better than watching films on the TV. Nice busy desk too. Have a great woyww and a happy crafty week, Angela x 23
Your desk looks very clean and tidy - at least in comparison to mine! The films sound good, if I could get in at that price I would be able to go occasionally! Have a great February, hugs, Valerie
Crikey, your cinema day was a real BARGAIN! Your desk looks creative and I'm LOVING the look of that tag

Sound like you enjoyed the films and great that you can travel to these wonderful cinemas so cheaply. No wonder your month has flown by you have such a great time
Love Chrissie xx
like Christine I love your film reviews too, even though I can't remember the last time I went to the cinema!! Have a creative desk (careful what you throw away, lol!) Helen #1 happy 400th...
Your desk looks like mine, and my whole space isn't coming along at all. Oh, but I do create better in a mess than not. :) Movies sound good-although I haven't heard of either of them. But always like a good suggestion. Happy mid-week Chris. Hugs-Erika
Hi Chris. Happy 400th. Well, what a time you have been having! Films, crafting, and goodness knows what else. Sounds like "taking it slower" means having a great time. Well done you.
Thanks for already visiting.
Take care. God bless.

Sounds as if you had a great day out with so many lovely things happening for you - and at a great price too. Who said retirement is not the best age? Thanks for the reviews, now both films are on my list.
I see we share a love of the same glue.
Hugs, Neet 10 xxx
I wish I lived in the UK. I would visit the cinema more. The last time I went, Sally paid for Sully. Before that was in 2008 when I was in California and my friend Joseph paid. Obviously, I don't go out much. I really love your reviews, though. I'd heard Hacksaw Ridge was good and a true story, but have never heard of Lion before.
Trying to play catch up with this visit.
Wow! What a great day you had! I want to see Lion, the last movie we saw was La La Land and we both liked it. Is it the flower stamp you just made? It looks great! I love home made stamps, must make some more! Happy 400th, and thanks for sharing! Lindart #47
I've been to the pictures more since getting my meerkat vouchers than I've been in years Chris. We are naughty as well because we buy the normal seats and sit in the premier ones.
I took mum to see Lion this week and we saw la la land last week
