Tim's 12 Tags of 2015 - August - The French version!

I very nearly didn't make this tag but I'm determined not to give up    this year!
I don't have the words dies…..or some of the other products Tim uses in his tutorial here ….but I do have some of the the ephemera we picked up on our travels around France in June…including a 1950's catalogue from one of the Grand Magasins in Paris - Printemps. My SIL and hubby took us to some Vide Greniers ( table sales) and Brocantes and a very kind person at one of the stalls gave me it as an extra so my beautiful lady was scanned and reduced in size a little!!She looks as though she is holding her mug of chocolat but (a little secret) it's just the way I cut the surrounding paper!

I must say I really enjoyed using the gesso, ink pad and multi medium - I love the effect it gives and I'll be using this technique more in the future!

It was only when I was looking for some thing to put on the top corner that I realised how like a fleur-de-lys the leaves in the idea-ology foliage set were!

I wanted to give the tag a more feminine touch so instead of the colours Tim used I chose to use pink on the leaves, cog and around the edges of the tag.

There is part of a métro ticket and card from a lovely crêperie we ate at, as well as part of a Paris guide. The bird stamping also reminds me of France - the sky was often full of swifts.

I am pleased with my tag as it is full of my memories of our visit! I hope you like it too!

Oh! and just save you looking up the quote on the little French stamp - 'Enjoy every moment'….I try to!!!

Thanks for looking, Chris

Well, you might not have Tim's dies, but I still like your tag better than his one - lovely creation! Hugs, Valerie

It's a beautiful tag Chris. I like the colours and the lady is so elegant. What a lovely idea to use bits and pieces that remind you of your wonderful holiday in France. My parents had French friends and we spent many holidays there when I was young. Barbxx

You are so right about the leaves looking like the fleur de lys, how clever of you! I love the Eiffel Tower too - you made such a great job of this month's tag, I love it! Anne xx

I'm far more impressed with your tag than Tim's. Yours is wonderful and so much more authentic. I think he just offers those tags each month so he can sell more products, something I refuse to buy. I'm far more impressed with your French interpretation, anyway. Great job.

So clever how you gave her the mug of chocolate to hold, and I love how inventive you've been in the absence of the word dies… a fabulously chic Parisian take on the August tag. Glad you didn't give up!
