Hi everyone, I'll start with a photo of my outing with friends on Saturday (more photos here)
Above are the pages I made and here I am with Sarah and our drinks, two flat whites and one American with cold milk(mine) We also had cake - Lemon Drizzle for me, a Lurid orange pineapple slice for Helen and a salted caramel fudge for Sarah. As you can see we were also belatedly celebrating Helen's birthday which was way back in September.
I am, of course, joining Bleubeard and Elizabeth for T Stands For Tuesday.

First though we went to visit the site of another battle in 732 involving Franks and Muslims. You can read more here if you wish
This was a listening point to the story of this battle and could be accessed in English.
We then went to the other side of Poitiers to the 1356 battle site, here is the introduction panel
This is the memorial.
From there we went to the nearby Abbey

I visited Poitiers and the surrounding towns many years ago, but I can’t recall which places I visited. Your tour really looks interesting. I now know more history than I did back then. Your ice creams look great! As always, I’m delighted to travel with you.

What an amazing and wonderful post. I was delighted to see all the drinks you, your friends, and hubby had to share this week.
I was really overwhelmed and had to read the post a second time about the various battles and such. I had learned a bit about the 100 years war when I researched the Kings and Queens altered book I made. Of course nothing about the individual battles. This was fascinating.
The abbey was unusual and I enjoyed the grounds. Thanks for taking us with you on this leg of your journey and for sharing your various drinks with us, too for T this Tuesday, dear Chris.
I bet you had fun out with your friends. And it's great to see your meal too. The legsious looks yummy, and I had to look it up since I have never heard of this. I think I would like these, especially when it's hot. I also had to look up this author. Those books you've been reading sound interesting, I don't know much about this time period at all. Looks like a fun time out with friends. All the desserts sound wonderful, it would be hard to choose just one. The 100 Years War, such an interesting time period and to see where battles actually happened and the site preserved. Wow! Happy T Day

That abbey is lovely! The battlefield sounds interesting, but I would struggle with not having it all in English. Do you read French? The views are certainly lovely.
