WOYWW 342…and Star Wars!!

I couldn't let this Wednesday go by without linking to The Stamping Ground for What's on your Workdesk Wednesday. I have met so many lovely folk courtesy of Julia and would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas!
My desk I am sure won't impress - a random amount of things, either dumped to sort or leftover and intended to add to my next journal page.
There is even a plastic bag containing some old jewellery from my DIL given to me last week - still to be investigated properly!

Now, I hope you don't mind me adding a film review?
Last week on our way up to the caravan we called in to see the new Star Wars film. Hubby had booked expecting crowds….there were 5 of us in the cinema!!!
This poster was outside in the corridor.
They were giving away sets of postcards so I cut a couple up to make this.
I had this yucky black and green background in my journal for ages - used pens to add lasers and 'flashes' and added some TH words - it was only when I had finished that I opened out the pages to find that the two pages looked so funny together and with the same words!!
The film did not disappoint - to me it was just as exciting as the very first one(in 1977)- which I went to see with my Special needs class - we had won a competition for a free viewing - guess how? - an art competition in which the children made robot shapes using tools, cogs, springs etc.(begged from the local garage)onto large pieces of paper then sprayed them with paint - sound familiar? It was only as the words scrolled up on the screen that I remembered this - it seems I have been masking and spraying for quite some time!

It was great to see the old characters appear - and the story line was good - no spoilers! I will certainly enjoy watching again when the DVD comes out, but the big screen is definitely the best place to see this!

I will be out with grandchildren today so will make most of my visits when we get home!

Hope you all enjoy your Christmas!
Thanks for looking, Chris

I am joining the AJJ challenge where the theme is Collage and some journalling.

I remember running out in 1977 to see the very first Star Wars! You almost had a private screening by the sound of it!! Great journal page too.

Merry Christmas and have a crafty 2016!

Have no idea how I missed this. I love the journal pages you created, and I also remember that wonderful first Star Wars. Never saw any of the pre-quels, though.

Before I forget, I hope you have a merry, safe Christmas, filled with good health, happiness, and love. Happy belated WOYWW and happy holidays from Bleubeard, Squiggles, and me.

Yes, yes, yes... I can hardly wait (being very careful to avoid spoilers in reviews etc, so thank you for being careful!)... but need Cestina to catch up with the story line first! We watched the first one last night - still fantastic!

I love your tribute page with the flashes of light and energetic composition of characters... and it did make me laugh when the pages opened out and there was Eleanor holding them off with one hand!

Wishing you and yours a peaceful and joyous festive season!

Thank you so so much for your beautiful card and even more for sending Agnes the Angel to keep Angel Amelie company. They have now taken their rightful place high on the Christmas tree.!
Have a wonderful Christmas and Peace, Joy, Health and Happiness.... and creativity too for 2016.

Look forward to seeing you soon and remember that the Poppies installation moves for St George's Hall mid January. There will be another installation after and they are appealing for people to make poppies to inside the hall. Fancy making one or more.... (I am!) they've got to be in to BBC Radio Merseyside by 8th Jan. x

While the Star Wars page is fun, I really love the Eleanor of Aquitaine next to it!! I've always had a soft spit for her....a woman ahead of her time, I think :-)
Thanks for the fun and friendship this year...hope you have a wonderful Christmas!
Hugs, LLJ 11 xx

How strange that the cinema was not busy, I would have expected crowds too. Long, long ago (!) we watched the three Star Wars films in a cinema over one day, that was fun. We had an interval between each film.
Love your journal pages on the film, something to remember it by.
Happy Christmas! and hope you have a great 2016.

Wonder how many of us have links to the past which show that we were destined to become card makers etc? My links were with Guiding and I remember spatter painting with leaves to block out the 'spatter' from the paint on the toothbrush.
Thanks for making me remember something like that.Like the White Rabbit in Alice I am "Late" - only just getting around to commenting and it is almost time for another week to begin. Sorry, but Christmas got in the way.
Will be exciting when you examine the jewellery bag - hope you share what you got with us all (I mean a look).
All the best for 2016
Hugs, Neet xx

Thank your for the film review, and not spoiling it for those of us who haven't seen it yet (will tomorrow). Love the idea for the journal page. Lucky you getting the free postcards. Thank you for stopping and leaving a comment earlier. While I'm running late i am enjoying a leisure day of visiting everyone's posts. Happy New Year!
