T stands for…Tatton Park

After a day out with my youngest son at the Christmas Market I needed some recovery time so I hope that you will forgive me for linking so late for T Stands for Tuesday at Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog The Altered Book Lover.
I will have to post photos another day of the market as my phone has died on me!
I do have photos of our trip out to Tatton Park the other week, on a much sunnier day than today was! We had to keep dodging the showers today but….

The weather was fabulous. When I retired I was given a free pass to this lovely Park, there is a Mansion, a working farm along with a cafe and farm shop. The Japanese gardens are supposed to be the best in the UK.

We had a lovely walk
and although the planes from the nearby airport are quite noisy…

They didn't frighten the deer off.
We did have a drink while we were there but…hey..guess what?
I'll just have to show you some rainy pics of our outing to the garden centre near the caravan for that instead.
I would love one of these but they are VERY expensive!
Lovely views from the outside
We couldn't get a window seat though
and you want to see my drink
I stirred my chocolate in before hubby could get it!!!

By the time we had drunk our coffee and done some shopping the rain had stopped, so we went down the road for a little walk and looked back at the garden centre and down to the sea and the distant mountains of the Lake District!

I can't promise to visit many of the T gang before it becomes Wednesday here but I will get to to you soon!

Thanks for looking, Chris

I always LOVE it when you take me places, and that lovely garden is wonderful. I would LOVE for you to visit there in each of the seasons and show how different the gardens are when the weather changes.

Those mobiles are beautiful. I agree they are expensive. I've seen some at our high end craft fair, and love them, too.

Got the chocolate stirred in before hubby could claim it for himself. Serves him right. After all, it looks like he got plenty in his.

Thanks for sharing your wonderful Tatton Park and Gardens, as well as the yummy looking chocolate with us for T this Tuesday. And it's never too late for T!!

Your Park reminds me a lot of our Botanical Gardens here in Missouri. Once the Estate of a wealthy family they are now public gardens that are beautiful . I haven't been for a while it was very nice to visit yours today..Or tonight I should say as for some reason I can't sleep so I'm up visiting. Those Mobiles are amazing and very expensive as you said. Can't wait to see the photos of your Christmas market.

Oooohh! I googled Tatton Park and now I have a whole vacation plan in my head: fly to Manchester, spend a day at Tatton Park, go on to Liverpool and Isle of Man (which has been on my list forever). Is there time to squeeze in the Lake District before we have to head home, or should that be left for another time? Anyway, Happy T-Day! :-)

Wow, what a gorgeous park! Thanks for showing it to us in this post.

We have a Japanese garden in the metro area where I live. It's rather small but quite pretty. Here is a short video of it, if you'd like to see:

The park looks stunning in your photos - such an exciting time of year for botanical gardens and arboretums. I'm so impressed with your retirement present - that's some really creative thinking on the part of your colleagues - lovely! Or do you just mean everyone gets in free once they retire? In which case roll on 65, or 75, or 80, or whatever they've got to by the time I get there!!

Looking forward to seeing the Christmas Market when you get your phone to behave!
