Is it Snowing?

Hi everyone, I know a lot of places had snow last week, thankfully not here! We have a new theme at Try It On Tuesday - 'Snowflakes', and, although we don't need reminding how cold it is becoming, the Design Team have some great examples to share with you.

I have been enjoying heat embossing lately so chose some snowflakes from a variety of sets to make my card.

I stamped them randomly on my card, embossing as I went along, using silver Wow embossing powder.
I also embossed the sentiment. Here you can see the lovely sheen.

I hope you will join us at TIOT this time with your 'Snowflakes'. Our theme is open for the next two weeks.

Thanks for looking, Chris

Get Ready For Christmas

Hi everyone, here at Try It On Tuesday it's time to 'Get Ready For Christmas' and you will see that the Design Team have different ways of getting ready for Christmas.

My birthday is in December so I sometimes don't get ready until after my birthday. This year however, with the experience of post not arriving when we expect it I have realised that my cards need to be ready for the post at the beginning of December.

I must confess this is my second attempt at this card - CAS really is something I should avoid!

I had just about completed the first version when I made a huge black mark so here is version two, which gave me a chance to change the stencil I had used! The little creature is by a French company and I bought it last year while on holiday.

I used Distress ink through he Lavinia stencil and coloured the image with watercolour pencils and a water brush,

It doesn't show but I used gold heat embossing for the sentiment.

I hope you will start to 'Get Ready For Christmas' and join us at TIOT this time.

Thanks for looking, Chris

Coffee anyone?

Hi everyone, I am here to share some of my recent (and not so recent) trips to coffee shops at T Stands For Tuesday, hosted by Bluebeard and Elizabeth at The Altered Booklover blog.

It's an age since I was last here, I hope you still know who I am!!

The first two are from our holiday in France this year

I love this cup and saucer (in rather a posh restaurant) with my Noisette coffee after a meal
The first place we visit when getting off the ferry is always this bakery, which has a fabulous range and decent toilets!!!!

This is one of stop off places when we have our weekly shopping trips - The Tea Shop in Knutsford has one of the best coffees I have ever had - the toasted Teacakes are great too

We get free coffees using my vouchers at Marks and Spencers - we usually share a fruit scone too

Saturday mornings often find us at Petit Delice - mainly so that hubby can have his favourite Pistacchio croissant

I'm hoping to get back to blogging some time soon

Thanks for looking, Chris
