I grabbed some time to make a journal page for Neet's 'Type' theme at Art Journal Journey.
I had some leftover letter cut from a piece of designer paper and I wanted to use up the Crafty Individuals typewriter that I had stamped to experiment with a technique I wanted to try - it didn't work, but I still had the typewriter.
The bird and the butterfly on a piece of cut up birthday card prompted me to make my page about the different types of flying creatures in nature.
I used an Aall and Create stencil with blue distess ink(don't remember which two I used!)I arranged the letters and stamped lots of insects and bird around too.
I used some random quotes that I keep in a box along with a small strip of AAll and Creat Washi tape that says 'Beauty Abounds'
It was only when I had finished my page that I spotted NHS in the corner - we were wondering today how many other folk are having difficulty in actually speaking to their GP's - when we ring we get an automated message that cuts out straight after it. It's been like that for a while, last time I wasn't feeling well, couldn't get a reply I got through the pain with painkillers - maybe that's the plan! I can't imagine how folk without computers are getting on.
I'm not really ranting, Heaven knows where we would have been with the NHS during last year!
Thanks for looking, Chris

My daughter's boyfriend is trying to get a covid test since several people at his job have tested positive. It's the same thing. He'd have to drive an hour for a quick test, even though they live in a small city. Right now everything is crazy, and here, going back to more crazy. I do love your page today with all those letters Chris. And that cool typewriter. Glad you found a few minutes to make this. And good luck with all the run around. hugs-Erika
Lovely page Chris. Sorry you are having so many problems. It's more or less 'normal' here, whatever that might be! Have a great day, hugs, Valerie
A fabulous page Chris! Sorry to hear about the problems you're having. We still haven't booked any trips, seems like too much hassle at the moment.
Take care,
Alison
Sorry to hear of your problems with your GP. Friends have said they use "ask your GP" and find it very good.
We wrote to our GP with a problem and got a face to face appointment - a month away!
Anyway, I love your page. Great idea to use those big letters and that background is so nice - lovely and really is a nice pale background.
Thanks for another entry with my theme at AJJ.
Hugs, Neet xx
Seems like there are medical issues and delays all over the place. Covid is still changing our lives in so many ways.
Love your page! :)
Sorry to read about your travel plans not going as hoped. With the Delta virus hitting our states, I wouldn't travel for any reason right now. I was surprised when Joseph did. But of course, there was a story behind that. I am also sorry you can't reach your GP. I don't even have one! I know I'm a fool, but if I get sick, I'm not going to pay someone to tell me to go home and take two aspirin (grin).
Your latest journal page is wonderful. I love the tyoewriter you placed on the tag and all the letters you chose to go around the outside. Nice that you brought nature into the mix, too. Thanks for another wonderful entry for Art Journal Journey using Neet's great theme.
I am sorry that the medical connection with you is so bad. It's good that you could help yourself.
Your work has turned out beautifully, well thought out
Have a happy weekend, hug Elke
A very pretty page. The alphabet letters and old-fashioned type writer made me smile. Seems everything is topsy turvy lately. Take care.
Love the typewriter and the colorful letters. Another fab page, Chris. Things are crazy - hard to understand them other than people can only do so much. I work in a call center and some days we have a lot of people out and a bunch of people call all at the same time, so we just can't get to all the calls. Right now, we have several people out with Covid. When you are sick though, it is more critical and super important so I understand your frustration! Actually so many things are frustrating right now! I am looking forward to a future normal of some kind!
