Winter blues!

I must apologise for being so lax at visiting and commenting on my favourite blogs of late - there has been quite a lot going on here - appointments, school run duties, visitors and on top of that I have 'the tidy bug', brought about, I think, by my imminent surgery!
I have also had a few commitments to prepare for so have spent very little time visiting!

I did however want to make one last journal page for Chrissie's fabulous theme at Art Journal Journey - Winter Wonderland. I have so enjoyed this theme and seeing the inspiring pages from others.
My page started out as some new DecoArt Multi Media Fluid paints streaked across the page - sorry forgot to take a photo….
…before I added some stencilling and stamping…
I almost used this for something else but had something in mind that I had seen on the internet - not sure, I think by Donna Downey but could have been Traci Bautista
I cut out some circles and laid them onto the surface before painting over with my new favourite colour - DecoArt Ultramarine blue!
I couldn't find my low tack glue so tried to keep them down with fold masking tape - what a mistake to make - of course some of the paint seeped underneath! I did try to neaten it up but decided to embrace the imperfection!!
The next part was easy, posca pens, stamps, ink, white signoball, black pitt pen…..
….quite a lot of doodling, some stamping and a lot of fun!

I hope I can get some visiting done over the weekend, just bear with me please!

I would also like to enter:-

the fab challenge at Stamps and Stencils chosen by Cec - Oh So Blue
and
another entry for Anything but Cute - Ring Out the Old, Bring in the New chosen by Anne

Thanks for looking, Chris

This is just beautiful, Chris - I love how you masked your little bubbles of wintry loveliness - each one with its own tiny delights. The birds are adorable, and I love the deer in the snowy woodland.

Sounds as though you are filling your time very productively. Will be keeping my fingers crossed for all to go well with the surgery.

Your page is brilliant Chris!
I am such a fan of circles and you've used them beautifully and so artfully here!
Truly magical.
Life sure can be challenging at times making it hard to be everywhere and do everything we want to.
Take care and have a lovely weekend.

The colour is amazing and I particularly like the repetition of the circles, it certainly creates a gorgeous sense of flow and brilliant mix of doodling and stamping.
Chris, you are doing so well to create art at a time when you have so many other commitments and also your operation being on your mind. At such times, something has to give, please do not worry about being unable to visit.
Wishes
Lynne

Good to get your tidying up done before surgery, because you know no one cleans like you do yourself, and you will see every cobweb your husband misses! Spoken from past experience...I'm just sayin'!

As for your journal page, Chris, is is so chilly and whimsical! I happen to love the imperfection of the circles, and so happy you embraced them. What wonderful little landing spots for all your wintertime stamping and doodling. This looks like it was so much fun to make! Inspiring, my friend! Keep me posted on the surgery, OK? Big hugs for that to all go well.

Goodness Chris, this is simply incredible. I love how you embraced the imperfections, because they certainly look planned to me. I can't believe how much mileage you get out of a single entry. All the stamping, the doodling, and painting add up to a wonderful wintery scene.

Please take care of yourself and I'll be thinking of you as you have your surgery. I spent much of yesterday cleaning out and rearranging my refrigerator and freezer, so I understand the tidy gene.

Chris, I just read your comment on digital collage. For this one I used a web site picmonkey.com, but I usually use the mosaic maker at bighuglabs.com. Sorry I'm being lazy and not sharing the linkable link, but you can get to either through your browser.

FUN! I love the "giant" snow dots filled with images. This is really clever and made me happy to look at. Hope the imminent surgery goes well. :)
