Autumn in my calendar journal and a Second Look at Autumn

Well, we certainly have got some Autumn weather - I had to go out briefly last night and there was a definite chill in the air. Yesterday we had one of those yellow sun days with some fluffy clouds, today, rain.

My calendar journal has colours that I think will certainly be appearing all over the place soon - some of the leaves are already getting an Autumn look to them.

Paper Artsy Fresco paints and the new Crafty Individuals grasses and ferns - the October came from an old calendar.
Here is September all filled in - I took my squares with to fill in on holiday, so some French news in here if you want spoilers!

I am of course entering at Art Journal Journey where Tracey has the great theme of 'My Favourite Colour is October'

Now, for my Second on the 2nd post and to link to Bleubeard and Elizabeth's Altered Book Lover blog I have chosen an edited TSFT post from just last year - there were some lovely Autumn colours at Fletcher Moss.

             _______________________________________

Last Friday after my friend's funeral we headed to Fletcher Moss.
First we went into the Parsonage Gardens.

For some reason blogger as decided to reorder these photos but I don't suppose it matters...
From here we went down the hill and into the gates of Fletcher Moss

We just looked through the gate at the rose garden.

It was 12.30 and we were ready for a coffee so I am joining Bleubeard and Elizabeth at The Altered Book Lover for T Stands For Tuesday

This is the back of the cafe, which isn't open at the moment.
As you know there are mobile wagons now and on Friday we noticed that they are now going to serve hot snacks.
We both had Cappuccinos and shared a flapjack

As we walked away I turned round to take a photo of where we had been sitting.
The gardens really are beautiful at this time of year.

The palms are looking good and can you see those huge pine cones?

We headed down to a lower level

The plants in the pond are dying off and you can see more of the water

We came out of this gate and back onto the path back to the road

Some birch trees have been chopped down - I wonder why?

We walked around mostly in silence, there weren't many folk around and it seemed right considering the day.

I hope you enjoyed this reflective walk.

We haven't been here for a while...and we have been busy this week so our only outings have been essential.
Looking forward to a sunny Autumn......

Thanks for looking, Chris

Your October calendar has some gorgeous colors Chris. I love all the ferns along the bottom. And those autumn photos were gorgeous. I am sorry you visited after a funeral, but it was really nice to see the colors. We are having unusual colors so far this fall. Let's see if that changes. Hope October is going well. Happy weekend and Hugs-Erika

I love the colours in your October calendar and they are exactly right for Trace's challenge at AJJ. Beautiful autumn photos, too, that's a beautiful place to walk. Happy weekend, hugs, Valerie

Love your Autumn coloured Calendar page and the photos are wonderful. A lot of the trees in our garden are dropping the leaves while they are still green, shame as I love the lovely burnt orange and yellow of Autumn.
Hugs Wendy

Once again, your incredible calendar puts mine to shame. I love those ferns and the other new stamps, but most of all I love the colors you used to create this calendar entry. Thanks for this beauty you shared with us at Art Journal Journey using Tracey's colorful theme.

I remember that second look well. I oohed and ahhed then and am doing so again today. The colors are so rich and stunning, and your photos showed what a REAL autumn looks like. I can't imagine I didn't mention that flapjacks in the states are also called pancakes, not a cake like piece you shared. Thanks so much for this second look on the 2nd, dear Chris.

Your calendar sheet for October is beautiful with the autumn colors. I like your trip, wonderful to see the colorful autumn colors in the photos and yet not to rest too cold on the bench!
Happy day, hugs, Elke

There's something rather spectacular about the yellow and orange hues of October, I think it's why i've always been very drawn to the month. Your October calendar will be a real joy to document each day. The fern stamps look fantastic. Thank you for sharing Chris, the photographs of the tree changes is a real bonus for me. Beautiful. Hugs Tracey x
P.S Regarding the Silver Birch, I think many have began to suffer from the extra Hot Summers and not getting enough water in between. We've had a few cut down sadly along our nature trail.
