T Stands for three walks and coffee!!

Hi everyone, last week was mixed week of emotions and events.

On Tuesday, my very dear friend passed away and it was also the day we went for a walk with my youngest son.

He had seen photos on my blog and wanted to see Fletcher Moss for himself.

We walked to the open air cafe area first and we all ordered Mochas but I forgot to take photos. In fact we were so busy talking that I didn't get my phone/camera out until we came to this...

....there had been a light misty rain earlier in the morning and this conifer had beautiful misty cobwebs all over it!

Love the contrast of colours caught here

We took a different walk through woods.

You may remember I was keen to explore Stanner Wood the other week.
This is where it ends
Here is my son, while he was wearing a coat hubby and I had shirts and gilets - we were a little chilly when not in the sun!

Hubby took lots more photos but I'll save those for another day!

Our water pipes had begun to make a funny noise so we now have a man coming later this week.

On Thursday we made a snap decision, (having seen the forecast for Friday) to go to Tatton Park. No booking required for the main estate and I received a lifetime free pass when I retired.

It was chilly enough for us to wear a coat but the sun shone most of the time.

It is rutting time and the deer were out by the road through the estate
So were the sheep.
We walked to the Old Hall and back

We had this view while we ate our picnic

We drove to the little wood to see this group of does and knew that a stag was nearby, we had seen and heard him earlier!

The video doesn't load in but we watched him as he covered himself in mud!

We decided against getting out of the car, there are warnings around about staying away from deer as it is rutting season.

We wanted to take another walk so drove to another car park and walked in front of the Mansion.

This is the view from the front of the Mansion
I showed you the other side of this gate from inside the garden last time but this time we are going around the outside of the garden to another secret place!

The lake and the monument that we see when we walk around the gardens

We were looking for this
All stately homes had an Ice house if they were able to.

Now, as I forgot to take photos of our drinks I have a journal page, as it is here I will join Bleubeard and Elizabeth for T stands for Tuesday

I found this coffee and croissant image in a free magazine, the lady in green is from a Stampington magazine.
I stencilled some coffee coloured lines across the page stamped some French words and found some words in story book I have had for a while that, although they were on the same page, weren't in the same sentence!

She looks as though she has been enjoying a night out with a flagon of wine! I wonder if she would eat the croissant?

This page is of course for my theme 'Hold The Line' at Art Journal Journey.

After getting soaked walking down to the Health Centre for our flu jabs the week so far has been uneventful.
We're off now for a walk before doing our Click and Collect pick up - showers are forecast, but we will have our umbrella this time!

Thanks for looking, Chris

Yup, see those misty cobwebs are exactly what I was trying to capture with my current tag - magical photo... and down there, they're less likely to catch in your hair too. Wonderful photos from what looks like another lovely day out. Thanks for sharing them with us.

Your photos are great at capturing the misty atmosphere on your walk. Very beautiful. So nice to get to see your son. We don't know how we'll next be able to see our family.

Love the photos, I so miss the English landscapes and countryside here. Great spider's-web pic, too. Good that you had time with your son. Love your fun journal page, I know that feeling after drinking coffee! Have a happy T Day and a good week, hugs, Valerie

Great assortment of photos. Thank you for sharing them. You have beautiful places to go walking where you are. I guess it's probably rutting season for the deer here in Connecticut, US, too, but they don't gather in herds quite as large as they do there, so it's relatively safe. (We have a lot of them in the wild, but they run in small packs.) Lovely artwork. Happy T-Day!

You always go on such beautiful walks and the photo of the red maple with the contrasting colours is so pretty, I love this time of year! So nice to walk with your son too, it looks like you all had fun 😀. Such a fab page too, perfect for T Day and AJJ! Sending you Happy T Day wishes! Hugs, Jo x

What lovely walks you had with your son. Great pictures. My dad used to tell us about cutting blocks of ice from the Mississippi River and lugging them to the ice house every winter.

Cute journal page. Found poetry is fun to create. I haven't done it for a while.

Happy T-day! Stay safe and stay well. Hugs, Eileen

You lost yet another friend Chris? So sorry, it must be heartbreaking to lose dear friends...
Glad you got to spend time with your son, and out among really lovely gardens and scenery again. Your photos are super, and that moose must have been something to watch!
Love your journal page with its story:) Happy T day!

So sorry about the loss of your friend.
Really nice that you got a good wander with your son.
Smart to avoid rutting deer. I wish the video would have loaded. Odd to cover himself with mud--LOL!
Great journal page. Best to you and yours! :)

I'm sorry to hear about your friend. How nice that your son could join you both for your outing. You taught me two things today: I've never heard of a gillet but discovered it's a sleeveless jacket and that rutting is mating season. Thank you for adding to my vocabulary today :) Terrific journal page and sentiment ~ Enjoy your week!

Oh wow, those cobwebs on the conifers were amazing. How nice to spend time with your son at Fletcher Moss. In fact, I enjoyed seeing him and learned a new word: gilet. I had to look it up to see that it is a sleeveless jacket or full length coat. It's not a familiar word here in the states.

Wow, also loved the photos you took at Tatton Park. Sheep and deer were everywhere you looked, weren't they? Such fun to see nature up close and personal.

That mansion is beautiful and I loved learning about the ice house, although I'm sure I knew a bit about them before.

Looks like great minds think alike for T this Tuesday. Like you, I'll drink coffee any day, but if tea is all I'm offered, I won't turn it down. I really LOVE your page. I like how you showed the coffee and croissant on a table or ledge next to a window. It's a beautiful entry for your theme at Art Journal Journey and absolutely PERFECT for T today, too. Thank you for both these walks and your drink and journal page.

Loved your journal page!
Those woods are gorgeous! And look at all those deer in one place. We often have deer in our back yard but never that many. The mansion is beautiful along with the monument. I love seeing all the places you visit.
happy Tea Day,
Kate

So sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. As usual i enjoyed the outing. Such beautiful scenery. And that stag! Magnificent . Now I’ll have to see why he rolls himself in mud. Cover his scent so he can sneak up on females? Cover his scent so rivals won’t challenge? Take care and Happy T Day

Outstanding photos and stories to go with. Your son is very handsome. I am so glad the day was filled with beauty and love as your friend passed to the other side. It is exactly as it should be.

Oh what a handsome son you have! How lovely that he wanted to come with you on your walk. And what a beautiful park it is! You are so lucky to live near and have access to these wonderful places.
Yes, where I lived in Italy, there still was an ice house in the square (no longer used of course) and here in Spain, people still call their fridge the 'nivera' (ice house). So interesting.
I'm sorry to hear your friend passed away. It is very hard to lose a friend. My condolences.
Stay safe,
Happy belated T-Day,
Lisca

How fun to see your handsome son! Great to spend time walking with him too. What a pretty place to visit as well. Hard to imagine having an ice house to store your ice . They would be amazed if they could visit our time - wonder what we will be amazed by if we could time travel...

Love your journal page - coffee is so reviving and boosting. I can't imagine not having it or tea! Your lady was a great find/save. Fun page, Chris.
