On our first night we had a glorious sunset…I got so carried away that these are only a few that I took.

I took some shots of the castle...
…or rather, the sky through the ruined windows.
On the way back to the car this little fella was singing his heart out
a chaffinch this next picture will explain why I asked Elizabeth what a bird in her garden was... |
An English robin - I didn't know that American robins are different from ours |

glorious sunset Chris-and how I LOVE visiting castles-churches too for that matter. I only recently discovered there are English robins and American ones:) Glad you had such a lovely time away and yummy food. Happy birthday to hubby too!
Oh what gorgeous sunset photos and that goes for your coffee and cakes too = YUM!
I always marvel at how one sunset can change so many times with so many shades of loveliness!
Lucky you getting to visit castles and enjoy your beautiful surroundings.
I will look forward to more photos as I am a very good arm chair traveler :-)
Happy T Day to you Chris!

Oh and I adore your sweet little robins that are quite a bit more delicate than our U.S. ones...
I was very excited on our 2013 trip to the UK to get to snap a few robin photos :-)
Gorgeous photos, I am always hooked on sunrise and sunset, too! Looks like you had a geat trip. Hugs, Valerie
Lovely photos! Looks like it was a beautiful trip.
Happy T day!
It looks like a beautiful place to visit. I really like that photo of the sky through the castle window. And the cake of course.

Mmm mm! Loving the look of both those cakes and the frothy coffee would go down a treat right now. Your sunset photos are stunning. Nicely done!! Happy T Day :D
Castle, coffee and cake--whoohoo! Lovely!
Happy T Day! :)
I was still visiting T time friends when I lost power about noon my time. Got it back about 20 minutes ago. There's nothing worse than being in the dark with no power. And because all the lights on my side of the street were out, it seemed extra dark.
What a remarkable trip to the caravan and what beautiful photos of the sunset. And the castle ruins are amazing. We see nothing like this in my country. AND our robins really ARE very different from yours. What an incredible surprise on my part.
I hope hubby liked his cake. I would eat either or both of these (grin).
Thanks for sharing your hubby's birthday, the castle, and the beautiful sunsets with us for T this Tuesday. Again, I apologize for being so late, but you can thank my energy provider for the snafu.
Boah... amazing images -wow.... and this cake- pieces look sooo yummie!
Happy T-DAY Chris! ♥♥♥

What a beautiful little bird. Quite a bit different from the robins here. Sweet. I'd love joining you for that cake. Looks so good :) Happy T Wednesday ;)
oh my, what beautiful sunset photos! and love the robin too...quite different looking from our American robins! wish we could have a ramble in a castle 'round here...but we just don't have many in the area, though some of our churches look a bit like a castle...loved your post!
What a beautiful sunset and look through the castle window! The pistachio/carrot cake sounds amazing! Thank you for your visit on T day to my blog--the surprise was wonderful & I plan to blog about it as soon as I get the photos off my phone and catch my breath!
