T Stands for the Jours de Patrimoine!

Hi everyone, last week it all got too much and I missed my T Day post. Although things are  much improved there are things I need to deal with

I was about to show you what we did on the Jours de Patrimoine weekend, which was the last we spent with our friends.

One the Saturday we went to Parthenay to an art event

We had wanted to go when we stayed last year but couldn't find the details.

We started at an exhibition in the Museum.

First a lovely combination of calligraphy and collage

The museum had some interesting items too

Most of the artists had set up their work in the mediaeval houses of Parthenay
I spotted this letterbox on one of the doors

This lovely lady painted this for me
There was a larger space in the chapel

...and in the Medieval gardens we visited a few years ago.
We all enjoyed our visit and I came away inspired.
The next day we stayed local and went to visit a Pigeonnier in Vouille  the nearby village.

Vouille is a lovely village

After a little walk around we went for lunch at one of our favourite restaurants
Although I didn't take any photos apart from the menu the food was, as always, delicious!
So here is a photo from Patrimoine Day last year when we visited a Mediaeval Fair..as you can see we had water and hubby is enjoying his Tarte Tatin

I'll continue with our journey next week all being well!

Thanks for looking,Chris

I always enjoy seeing your travel photos, but it's hard to beat that pretty painted piece, painted just for you. That must have been a great moment. I hope everything is working out with your meds and that you had a super T day too. Hugs-Erika

Wonderful photos, Chris, so much to see and enjoy. Loved the museum, what a wonderful place. And the food looked good, too, difficult to choose with such a good menu! Have a great week, hugs, Valerie

Loved seeing the art in the museum and the beautiful Asian painting made just for you. I am totally jealous!
The village is beautiful, and everything is so green.
A medieval fair sounds like fun. We have one close to us and it is such fun but we don't go often as it is not child friendly, and it is pricey.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate

What a fascinating exhibition! I love the art pieces. And to have something painted just for you is very special.
The pigionniere is amazing. Can you imagine that when it is full of birds?
The menu card looks very nice. French food is famous.
Happy T-Day,
Lisca

I so enjoyed your trip to Parthenay to the art event. What amazing works of calligraphy and collage. But the best was of the art the lady painted just for you. What a joy that must have been.

Your photos of the chapel and the grounds were wonderful. And of course, I enjoyed seeing T with his Tarte Tatin from last year. Thanks for sharing with us for T this week. Sorry I am late visiting. I had an eye dr. appointment and couldn't see for two days. More this Friday, I hope.
