T Stands for...Thank You....and transfers

Hi everyone! I really must thank everyone for putting up with my lateness in visiting blogs - I hope things will get back to normal quite soon now I have got myself more organised! Going away and going out so much perhaps wasn't such a good idea when I was trying to finish projects!!!

Once again though, we have been enjoying more gardens - this really is my favourite time of year(at least until Autumn!)
Last week we had to drive right past the entrance to Styall Mill(also known as Quarry Bank)so after completing our errand we decided to go for a walk!
The rhododendron walk that opened up last year was lovely

We saw so many bees - this one posed beautifully!

Some of my favourite flowers are blooming at the moment..
Another path that has been made and opened gives a lovely view of the restored greenhouse as well as the heated greenhouse and the gardener's cottage.

Aren't these irises the most beautiful colours?
We were heading down to the lower formal garden...
...via these steps - there was a warning at the top!
Great to find some ferns that hadn't fully unfurled and lovely rotten tree stump - a lovely home for some lucky creatures!
This made me smile - the bulb leaves had been cut and were collecting falling petals making them look like a new variety of flower!!

Love this colour!

I found a bench to sit on till hubby caught me up
A little bit of going up hill and we were headed back to the car park.
This made me very happy - so many different grass have been left to grow - you can see in the background that there is still a lot of work to be done on the new car park but it is so much better then the old one.
Finally the little pond on the entry path.
If you would like to see Styall earlier in the year the post is here.
Of course the reason for being here today is to join Bleubeard and Elizabeth for T Stands For Tuesday.
We didn't stop for coffee last week so I have found a photo of our two for the price of one afternoon tea at our local garden centre at the beginning of May.
We ended up taking a doggy bag home (as did quite a few folk)
so that hubby could finish off the cakes!!We arrived just after they began serving so that our afternoon tea was our late lunch!!

As it's Tuesday can I also remind you that 'She's got the look', our theme at Try It On Tuesday still has almost a week till closing.
I had a bit of a warm up play with something I have recently seen on several blogs, that I first saw on Brigit Koopsen's's blog while doing the Gelliplate challenge.
Image transfer straight onto the gelliplate.
I must confess it took a few tries before I was happy but I think I will be making a few more of these!
I would like to enter at Art Journal Journey for Gill's theme 'Inspired by' (Brigit Koopsen)

Thanks for looking, Chris

  7. Yes Chris, the rhododendrons are beautiful. Two weeks ago I was in a park and there were only rhododendrons blooming. Not anymore now. There are some photos on my blog. You made beautiful photos from the other flowers too. I enjoyed the walk. Everything is blooming more than last year! Your spread is wonderful too.
    Dear greetings, Lenie

  12. I had an appointment at 9 am, then off to the bank and PO. After that I went grocery shopping at two stores. Got home, put groceries away, and because I hadn't slept since Sunday, I promptly fell asleep. Just woke filled with angst since I had not checked my blog until now!

I love all the flowers you shared. All my irises are gone. They lasted less than a week. And I don't think my peonies even bloomed this year. Your photos made them real to me. I really enjoyed your walk, right down to the lovely ferns and rhododendron.

Of course, the beautiful flowers didn't compare to the fun look on T's face when you two had all that food and tea to share. It certainly looked like a BIG fare to me. Thanks for sharing these goodies and drinks with us for T this Tuesday.

I want to learn that transfer technique, so I was hoping you left a link. I think yours turned out great. She IS a work of art. Thanks for sharing it with us at Art Journal Journey, dear Chris.

And wow, another fabulous fabulous garden. There were so many beautiful flowers blooming so you went at the perfect time. I want some gardens like those near me. Thanks for sharing those photos.
