I am very happy to be back in the spotlight at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge today!
The new challenge is Anything but a Card
After using bright colours last week I was feeling very upbeat despite the stress of keeping the white part of the pages unmarked!
I felt it was time to get messy again so I started by covering a page in my square journal with Gesso.
To this I added Tim Holtz Distress crayons using colours from sets 1, 2,and 7. I wet my finger on a dampened sponge and just rubbed and blended, nothing too neat as I was intending adding to it.
Next came Ranger Dylusions sprays Cherry Pie and Vibrant Turquoise and a water spritz
I used them in turn - each time letting them run down the page dabbing and drying with my heat gun - the distress crayons joined in the drippiness!
Next came some stencilling using some sequin waste and a few AALL and Create stencils - the SSS store has a good range of these
I drew some rough circles and cut some rough circles from some card I had dipped into some spritzed Ranger Distress Oxides on my mat - I don't recall which colours!
I stamped the face part of AALL and create 7 by Bipasha BK onto each of the circles - the larger of these had mis stamped part - something on my mat stuck to the stamp, but hey! - embrace imperfection!!!
It was at this point that I decided I need a little more interest bottom right, so added some gesso - just handy to grab - through another stencil and rubbed some more Distress Crayon over it.
Now I could add my words, also on Bipasha's set. I wasn't sure how it would stamp onto my page and wanted it to show up so out came my trusty Tim Holtz Tonic Stamp Platform (what a difference this has made to my crafting sessions)
Stamped twice over it stands out beautifully and says exactly what I want this page to represent! I hope it says the same to you!
Don't forget that in entering the challenge you will have a chance to win a voucher to spend at the SSS store and also a chance to be in the spotlight!
I have provided links to the products as I have used them in my post but for a quick link here are the products I used.
