Man's best friend!

It's time to celebrate the Chinese New Year! We often go into the city centre to see the Dragon parade - this year celebrating the year of the Dog, but this year we have another event to attend!
My journal page however is a page that isn't quite dedicated to the dog but does feature a dog.
 This is how it started
I added some Chinese style writing in red and black and some Paper Artsy LP bunting. I tore some washi tape into strips for the TH paper doll gentleman and his dog to 'stand' on.
I wrote the words with a brush pen - if only I could have written it in Chinese!

This page is for Rike's theme 'Animals A to Z' at Art Journal Journey.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and Thanks for looking, Chris

  1. A great page Chris, I agree with your bold statement entirely being a Dog person myself. I love the dotty washi they sit and stand upon. We too have big celebrations in the City always a fabulous display over 3 days but decided to stay in and order a take in instead !!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.. Warmest of wishes Tracey xx

  2. That is a fabulous background. It is a piece of art by itself. But of course I like Mr. Dogman and his loyal friend. They really finish off the page! Happy Sunday. Hugs-Erika

  3. Wonderful page, love the great background. They have Chinese celebrations in Düsseldorf, too, but I've never been to see them, shame on me! Have a nice Sunday, hugs, Valerie

  4. An amazing background with fine details as Chinese style writing in red and black, a cool washi tape and a gentleman proud with his dog! My first dog was a white dog similar to this one! It's good that you didn't write the words in Chinese, because then we could not read them :)
Thank you for linking your pretty little white dog to AJJ!
    Happy Sunday! Rike x

  6. What a super page Chris - and in the lucky colour of red.
Pity you are not going this year as I am off to Manchester shortly. Not quite the spectacular parade of LA but Certainly a great day out - and locally too.
    Hugs, Neet xx

  9. I am in love with this page. I adore the background because that reminds me of Oriental lanterns. Very clever of you and I love the use of washi tape, too. Thanks for joining us at Art Journal Journey, dear Chris. Have fun today.
