I made hubby a card.....
The Moulin Rouge soundtrack - we have the DVD but have never had the music on it's own!
I was really surprised, but he had seen my reaction to watching the Canadians skate the other day and made his mind up then.
We went the cinema yesterday - we have the 2 for the price of 1 tickets again - to see Black Panther - too many special effects for my liking, but we went shopping afterwards and as I wanted to go to the Lakeland shop he said he would catch me up and went off on his own! I guessed he had gone to buy a Valentines card - which he did, sorry not taken photo, but he was ages - now I know why, as he had had to queue in both places!!
Do I have the best hubby in the World, even though he did make a liar of me???!!
I used a large Carabelle Studio stamp for the background over some Twisted Citron Distress Oxide ink. I drew round a heart and rubbed Candied Apple DI over it and stamped part of another CS stamp on one side!
A sentiment that I have lost the label for, and some spatters and I was done - hardly a good exchange as I made it so quickly!
I also made another card with the same stamp, using a Tim Holtz technique of colouring the stamp with Distress markers, spritzing and stamping!
I added another unknown stamp for the sentiment and then stamped around the edge with a Denim stamp I bought in Paris last year.
My TH stamping platform made this so easy to do!

Thanks for looking, Chris
Yes, you have a lovely (and thoughtful) husband. What a great gesture, shows how much he thinks of you and how he listens for any little hint when it is time to celebrate something.
ReplyDeleteLovely card you made him too.
Hugs, Neet xx
You really are a happy couple! What a stylish card you made to your husband and I love Mouling Rouge. The birthday card is fab as well.

What a fabulous gift T gave you. It is wonderful and so is the card you made for him. I really like that technique you used and the stamp you used, too.
ReplyDeleteI also like the birthday card, but still contend that the best part of this post is the great love the two of you share for each other.
Great cards, and your husband is a real treasure. Have a wonderful day, hugs, Valerie

That was really sweet of him. Maybe next year you need to say you don't exchange Valentine's Day gifts and he'll surprise you again. (hee-hee). Love your card and that grungy background image a lot. Hugs-Erika

What a thoughtful gift! I haven't seen Black Panther yet but hope to soon. They do go all out on the special effects in these super hero movies, don't they!
ReplyDeleteLOL! That's the best way to be made a liar! ;)
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful post and the fact that your hubby proved you wrong is so funny! Wasn't the ice skating amazing, I loved the Moulin Rouge routine and how thoughtful of your hubby to buy you the soundtrack. All things considered, I think your hubby deserves that title of "Best hubby in the world" ...lol 😉. Your Valentine's card is amazing, I love the colours and stamps that you used to create it and I bet your hubby loved it too 😁. Happy Friday and I hope you have a lovely weekend! J 😊
ReplyDeleteSuch creative card, both beautifully done!

Ahhh, how sweet of him! And I'm sure he was delighted with his card and with your reaction to his gift too. I love that Carabelle stamp on both - cool and grungy on the Valentine, and it looks amazing in the Distress Marker watercolour version - beautiful colour choices.
