Dianne's chosen theme is Word and Number play based on Lynne Perella's Alphabetica book.
As you know I am big Lynne Perella fan so I thought this would be easy….not so…the enormity of the task…making pages for Dianne, whose work I have admired for so long really put the pressure on!
In the end though, I was happy enough to send them off and Dianne liked them! (phew!)
Page 1
I added paint over a check paper and added mini playing cards, and some game papers, the crossword is a stamp. The letters were painted and then stamped.

Next came another little pun ( you know the one about all singing from the same song sheet) The music paper is all about using symbols.
The page was inked and stencilled using clear paste and ink. The song sheet images are some I have had for a while and yes…those are peel off notes!
Page 3
Six of one and half a dozen of the other….I used some paint chips that I got for my GD to choose colours for her new bedroom - they had little holes in them so my little doll boy was stamped onto paper to look through the windows! Underneath the flap are half a dozen little dolls. The stamp is one I bought ages ago and I think may be Lost Coast Designs? I used the cut off strips from the paint chips to decorate the tag along with some buttons.
Page 4
Some clothing references - paper pattern, fabric label and a tag from a shirt that I gessoed part of and added the face stamp (a CS freebie) and part of another label. The three ladies are from some bargain paper from the Works and the quote is from an internet freebie from loooong ago! All on an inked wood effect background.
Page 5
Lots of coloured paper scraps, a clown cut from a magazine, and a little opening tag to show some of my favourite big screen clowns!
Page 6
Another little bit of fun - 6 ladies again! I love the way Lynne Perella uses repeated images in her work! I used one of my saved images of Eleanor of Aquitaine (Alienore D'Aquitaine)and changed them in Print Shop. The background was painted and then gilding and gold paint added. As I was about to add some book paper I noticed the little patch that said "joint ownership"! I just had to fit that in somewhere!
I should be home tomorrow to show you my goodies from Paris Scrap.....and there is a tale to be told!
As I write this there are demonstrations threatened in Paris!!
Thanks for looking, Chris
Fabulous pages Chris , they all have so much to see on them.
ReplyDeleteHave a safe journey home.

Hi Chris
ReplyDeleteIt is so good to finally pay you a visit, have missed my blog visits to you and other friends.
These pages are incredibly clever! I couldn't single one out as a favourite as I love them all for being so unique.
Brilliant!
Wishes
Lynne
Of course, I simply adore these. You have certainly raised the bar on Dianne's pages. I was thrilled that you shared all of these, because Dianne's is the one I'm most afraid of, other than Annette, of course. Your work was fantastic.
ReplyDeleteNow I'm worried about Paris and Patty being there with possible demonstrations on the horizon. Hope the news is not bad!
Fabulous pages Chris, what a great swap you are in. xx
ReplyDeleteLove your pieces. I think you did some clever things like the opening "windows" and the layering is cool. I think the queens really look Lynne Perella-ish. I LOVE her work too! :)
ReplyDeleteFabulous pages Chris, so full of interest. Looking forward to hearing about your trip to Paris. Have a safe journey.

Fantastic pages Chris! WoW!!!
ReplyDeleteSo many treasures here - the musical page with that gorgeous teal background, the wonderful vintage fashion women, and those adorable tiny dolls hiding in the pocket. Brilliant! No wonder Dianne loved them.
