March Swap Pages for Chris from Annette
Chris' theme was the garden but no frogs... I hope that I have achieved both... not a frog in sight, I promise!! I hope you like them Chris, I had such fun making them for you.
Feathered friends uses one of my favourite Tim Holtz dies, the bird cage and paper feathers in contrasting handwritten papers and a paper flower. I think the background paper with the eggs and such on are old 7Gypsies some washi tapes and ephemera of tickets and postcards.
Close up of the paper feathers which are really quite fun to do!
Dandelion wishes and dragonfly kisses made from plastic see through beads that I picked up in Saudi Arabia. The dragonfly is from the butterfly collection by pink paislee. Along the topsection is a quote by Proust which goes Let us be grateful to people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.
Larger inset showing the wooden dragonfly and the plastic beads that make up the dandelion flower.
Mary mary quite contrary... how does your garden grow? Found all my flowers and gems and just had fun filling the page with pretties to match the old photo of a little girl saying 'oops'!!
Close up of the flowers and feminine papers.
March winds, April showers, brings forth May flowers....
Another of my favourite Tim Holtz dies, the umbrella man. I cut him twice, once in black and then in bright blue, the black one just gives him a shadowy outline. The page has a pocket with a couple of tags inside with stamping.
Raining little bitty flowers onto umbrella man.
Winged things of the garden, lots of fussy cutting of the butterflies that sit on their original paper ones to give the page dimension.
Close up of the flutterbyes...
I beg your pardon... I never promised you a rose garden! The bird cage die and tattered florals die came out for this page with lace along the top with washi tape and lots of inking.
Paper flowers up close!
and finally the book mark or tag which has a secret...
it slides apart to reveal my details for the swap!
I don't think I need to add that I was THRILLED with these gorgeous pages! The photos don't do justice to the fabulous dimensions on these pages!
As I said in (also in my previous post) the standard is high!!!
I hope you will take a look at the other participants blogs - I think you will agree!
This post is scheduled and I think that today will find me going to Paris Scrap with my SIL!
Thanks for looking, Chris

ReplyDeleteWow, beautiful work from Annette. Hope your travels are going well. hugs :)
ReplyDeleteYou have more than those incredibly gorgeous tip-ins to thank Annette for. She suggested the swap between the two of us, and I just amped it up a bit. Annette is truly the queen of embellishments, and these pages certainly show it. I'm truly thrilled you like her art, because it is always over the top in my book.
ReplyDeleteI don't blame you, I would be thrilled too! My favorite page is the "I never promised you a rose garden" page - I love it!

ReplyDeleteSpectacular pages!!!!! I love the bug and butterfly pages the best! :) Erika
ReplyDeleteWhat delightful pages from Annette - I think the first feathery one may be my favourite, but the garden theme throughout is so beautifully captured. Love those final dimensional butterflies too... I can well believe you're thrilled with them all.
